I'd guess they will probably start today . . . . You had the benefit of the long weekend. If they don't start today, they will soon.
They may not all call you right away. Some people don't get contacted for months . . . . Others get contacted the next day.

is it bad that i am looking forward to their calls? i guess i am looking forward to them cause now i have the knowledge about what i legally owe them. and i am only going to pay what i legally owe them and not a dime more :-) and most of these payday loans will be paid off in a month. and i am in the process of writing my letters
It's not bad at all . . . . It's much better then being scared o
It's not bad at all . . . . It's much better then being scared of them! They will try to use fear and intimidation to get you to pay immediatly, and much more then you really owe.
Since you are expecting them and know what they will try to say you are prepared and can deal with them no problem!
good point, I have gotten so much knowledge about this whole pay
good point, I have gotten so much knowledge about this whole payday loan thing its incredible, and i got it all from this place. I am so glad I came here before all of this started happening.

Yeah, it still sucks that you have payday loans, but at least you aren't scared to death and freaking out because you were told the police will be there is 20 minutes to arrest you . . . . .
It's much better to know what to expect before it happens.

pammy - the worst they can (and will) do is call and harrass you, unless you have a wage assignment agreement with them. If you have a wage assignment agreement with them, you need to revoke it immediately in order to keep them from garnishing your wages. THAT would be the worst they could do, in that case, and it would be devastating to your paycheck.
Payday lenders are notorious for their phone calls to your work, home, relatives, etc., in an attempt to get their money. And when you block their access to your money by closing your bank account, they will up their efforts. You can expect several calls a day.
By the way, how much have you paid on each loan so far?
Pammy, First check and see if they are licensed in Texas. Also,
Pammy,
First check and see if they are licensed in Texas. Also, total up what you have already paid towards these loans and if the amount is more than your principal, demand that your accounts be marked paid in full, or you will be contacting your state's attorney general.

I sent my 1st letter in today. To DMS Marketing. Demanding refund for overpayment, revoking ach...etc etc.. This is the first I have seen about "wage assignment". How do you know if you signed one? Is there a list out there of what companies you sign them with?

I think that DMS Marketing does have a wage assignment clause in their contract. I am not sure of ALL the companies but I know that Cash Transfer Centers and Payday Avenue also use them.

A wage assignment letter is one where you give the PDL authorization to garnish your wages should you default--and obviously it's one you should never sign. In my experience with PDL's, the only companies I have dealt with that use them are Sonic and the ones related to Sonic: Cashtransfer Centers and Northway Debit. I'm sure there are more out there.

Okay.. Well, I haven't defaulted, just sent a revised "polly" settlement letter. Telling them they were illegal, stop taking money from me, threatend with complaint to AG, demanded refund, gave them til monday to respond by email only (so I had more refrence to give the AG). So i guess they cant "garnish" wages yet since I havent defaulted.

CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT! And did you include a voluntary wage revokation statement in your letter? I don't think DMS has a voluntary wage garnishment in their contracts though. And don't say you are going to file a complaint with the AG's office, actually file a complaint with the AG's office, I'm telling from experience with DMS, that they will respond to the AG's inquiry, and you are more likely to get your PIF letter that way. File the complaint.

It looks like you have paid Applefast, Nationwide, Payday Select off. I would demand they mark you Paid In Full. Cash Net also looks to be paid off as well. Have you filed complaints with your Attorney General's office yet? If not do so.
