Verbal Agreements

Verbal agreements mean nothing. Also, Cash Today is operating illegally in the US. Personally I would dispute every charge they ever made against your account as fraud and close the account so they can not make future charges. They are based in the UK so they are pretty much untouchable by most individuals in the US.
Verbal Agreements
I've already filed charges against one. I guess I'll begin the process for the 2nd one. It just sucks that I overpaid BOTH of these (of course) and now nothing will happen. But, filing charges might help. I was just curious as to if many people out there had pdl's that were verbal only. Thank you for your response!

Stay aware of the laws in your state. You are dealing with some company that are not licensed anywhere in the US. But still, since you had a loan with them, just make sure that you pay on their principal amount. They are not permitted to charge you anything on interests and fees.
Read other's experiences who have dealt with Cash Today and AIP. Doesn't sound to be good at all. They are creeps!
Interesting...
So Cash Today and AIP are notorious for this whole verbal agreement thing. Hmmm...interesting. Unfortunately I had a loan with BOTH and overpaid on BOTH, so I certainly don't have to worry about the principal being paid! It's been paid and paid again! Complaints have already been filed by me for Cash Today and today I am filing complaints on AIP. What strikes me as very interesting is that I got a voice message on my phone stating that my "next payment is 06/15" from AIP. Hello! I've faxed/mailed these people letter upon letter numerous times! And they still say my next payment is due? Well, that's okay, AIP, because the account is closed! Which, of course, I stated in my letter. Are the all retarded? Time to file complaints, once again. What a total mess!

Cash Today was the only company I dealt with personally that used a verbal agreement--and they tried to get around it by recording you agreeing to their terms, which is easy for a person desperate for a $200 loan to do, lol. I wouldn't trust these people as far as I could throw them now.

I've dealt with AIP . . . . I actually found that once I was able to talk to a "higher up" person at the company my loan was marked PIF without me even asking.
AIP will tell you that they only process payments for some other company, but their name in on everything. Just keep at them, and keep trying to talk to someone that has some actual authority in the company, not just a customer service rep.
Cannr - To elaborate more on my experience with AIP - I was told
Cannr - To elaborate more on my experience with AIP - I was told by a CS rep there that I must pay with a checking account. No other way was allowed. So when I talked to the controller of the company, I told her that according to the Electronic Funds Transfer Act that they cannot require me to pay with a checking account.

She apologized and told me that she would mark my loan paid in full and I wouldn't be bothered again. I didn't even have to ask.
Great Information
Wonderful information! I printed it to add to my other wonderful information I've gathered off this forum. Although I've OVER paid AIP, they're still jerks and Lord only knows what they'll try to pull. So at least I'm armed with more knowledge! Thank you so much for posting that!
No problem . . . Let us know how it goes with them all . . . . I
No problem . . . Let us know how it goes with them all . . . . I'll dig around and see if I can find the extension number of the controller I talked to. She was very nice, and as I said, suggested I be marked pif without me even asking. I think it may be posted somewhere on this board, so I'll do a search.

Those are two of the threads regarding AIP and mine and others experiences with them.
AIP
Oh my gosh. How very informative! I've already filed my complaints; however, this is what I found VERY interesting - that they are Cash Transfer Centers also?!?! Amazing! I had one internet pdl w/Cash Transfer Centers and paid it and was done with it. Now that I have this internet pdl with Cash Relief Limited (aka AIP)they're f'n bonkers! Why am I amazed whenever I learn something new on this site? Which is every day! Such great information! I'm seeing a tangled web pattern here of names that intertwine. Just amazing. How can this kind of thing keep going on????
Yeah, that is what the lady told me, although on my bank stateme
Yeah, that is what the lady told me, although on my bank statements and such it said AIP. The contract was one of those "verbal agreements", and if I remember correctly I had to agree to follow the laws of the UK. When the lady told me they would mark me PIF, she did say that since they are only the payment processors for cash transfer centers, that she couldn't say for sure what they would do, but that I wouldn't be contacted again by AIP. I never heard anything from CTC. I have the conversation on tape. It is possible that AIP is the "processor" for many pdl's . . . . . I never understood why CTC would use a processor for some, but then give loans out to others under thier own name.
It's amazing how many pdl's have the same address as AIP . . . 2207 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. I've seen at least 5 other pdl's with different names that have that same address.
AIP
No lie? Same address? Well, call me slow, but AIP stands for American International Processing. Hello! Like I said, a little slow here! LOL! But that shows right there that they probably are a payment processing company for MANY pdl's. Oh my God! This is like reading a mystery novel that just gets more and more involved and you get deeper and deeper into it just waiting to see the ending. It is like living in a totally different world when I enter this site.

Yeah, but the thing is, I'd think they is they just processed payments for pdl's, that the actual pdl lending the money would be named somewhere.
Plus, just the fact that they are located in the US, and not the UK, totally means they have to follow US laws.
