Hey everyone I am in a delimma, as you know I graduated nursing school. Now comes the hard part, I have to pay the cost of taking the boards which is VERY expensive. To make matters worse, just as I am nearing the end of my Chpt. 13, the trustee claims he lost my payment and is threatening dismissal if I don't have it by the end of June, NOT A GOOD THING! So I will have to use the money I saved for my exam ($350) to pay this to avoid dismissal. In the mean time I will be having to prove my payment was sent, (I send MOs and I can NOT find the d@mn receipt) To make matters worse there is a deadline to take the boards. Things are tight enough as it is, and please, don't get angry, but I am seeing that my only alternative is to turn to a payday loans in order to pay for my boards. I know that sounds crazy but I don't know what else to do. I wish we were told how expensive this was going to be, maybe that is my fault, I should've been more assertive with my questions. I would've used my tax returns but I had to use all of that to replace my car which broke down. I swear, IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING. You try to get ahead, and when you think you are there, life puts up another road block.

I have spent the last 3 years sacrificing so much, I thought I was doing well, and preparing a better future me and my kids and it seems now that is all for nothing and I will lose that. I swear, I have been in tears ALL day after my attorney contacted me. I am completely devastated here. It seems life really kicks you hard just when you think good things are right around the corner.

Thanks for letting me vent. I really haven't been myself at all today.

steelers1

try your dresser drawer under all your clothes.

do not go to a payday loan. that is not the answer. you know that if you go, it will be the real downfall of all that you worked for. it will work out. find those reciepts and fax copies to the court/trustie asap.

god speed,
james

I have looked EVERYWHERE! This absolutely s uc ks! I really don't have any other alternative hear, I am so close to discharge, and this has NEVER EVER been a problem NEVER! It figures though. I honestly have no other alternative but to take out some pdls to get the full payment in to the trustee and to pay for the boards,(there is a deadline for that)

Steelers,

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you on top of everything else. Please, don't fall prey to the pdl trap again. You know this can lead to no good. You have been such an inspiration on this forum. I will donate all my points that I have available to you. I don't want to see you struggle with the pdl trap again. Maybe others can do the same? After all, the forum is about helping each other through the tough times. :)

Steelers,
We all know about the PDL trap and I am still getting out of it--but I know a nursing license will be your bread and butter for life. I have just cashed my points in right now or I would also donate to you--is there any way you could sign up with a nursing registry as a CNA and work some fast shifts at a hospital?
When I was doing hospital staffing, I know that hospital staffers LOVED to get nursing students; especially those with an IP. Can you get a job at a SNF as a new grad with an IP? That might be a way to start getting fast cash.
We are going to get you through this, hang in there...

NOOOOOOO!!!!! I'm sorry all this is happening at once to you. But sometimes when life gives us lemons, we need to make lemonade. For all you've fought against the PDLs, there has to be another way. You've been an inspiration in the fight against these places. I do not want to see you go back, so I will donate all my points to you too. Anyone else??

Steelers, I and others here know how hard you've worked and all the struggles and roadblocks you've had to go through to get to this point. I will gladly donate all my points to you. Just try to hang in there.

We have to keep this going. Steelers has been an inspiration and an angel in disguise to others as well as myself here. Can't we all help her out in her time of need?

Try prosper.com, it does take some time, it took me 5 trys but with honesty about your situation, it does happen. I think the minimum loan request is 1,000, I dont know how many days you have but give it a try if you can- DO NOT take out a payday loan, what a nightmare we all know.

Steelers - have you check with your nursing school? They may be able to help or if you have been offered a job a t a hospital try them also-sometimes they will pick up the cost of the exam and then take it out of your pay checks gradually. I just cashed in my points or you could have mine. Let's try to brain storm some alternatives - NOT pdls - you have worked way too hard and come too far to relapse into that insanity. I know how hard it was for you to get through school, but nursed are in demand right now and I will check with some of my contacts to see what is available for you. I know that come hospitals are offering a sign on bonus. Any in your area? Also I know that if you were to work prn as a nures tech you could make some fast cash. Keep strong it will be ok.

Steelers -

Have you called the company that issued the money order to you? Maybe, just maybe, they can try to get you a copy of the receipt? I know it's a long shot, since you don't have the money order number, but anything is worth a shot.

I'm SO sorry to hear about this - just when you think it's safe to go back in the water, the DEBT SHARKS come back to bite you once again!

I have recently cashed out my points for the trip to take my kids to their dad for the summer, but I do have a small balance left - they are yours, with my very best wishes. Please, please, please don't take out a payday loan if you can in any way avoid it. I know it seems like the only way, but please try to exhaust all other possibilities first.

Hugs!

Sue

Thanks you guys. I just called the number on the MO receipts I have from all my other payments. They said they can not track a MO without the receipt number. I know it has to be somehwere! And Suebee you know what I was going through not too long ago with my 13, got that mess straightened out, only for the payment to be missing.

Irish, any ideas you have would be GREATLY appreciated, the places I have been going to so far will not hire as a GN until I get my license. Please, pm me any thoughts on places you have.

Right now, I am trying to "re-trace" my steps and actions on the day I sent out the MO, MAYBE that will trigger something.

I just hate that you're going through this now, when you were SO close to having things completed with the 13. I know how frustrated you must be.

Dump every single purse out, look in every junk drawer, clean out the desk, etc! I know that's what I'd be doing to retrace what happened to that payment! (Though I'm sure you've probably already done all that!)

Thanks Tania, you are a truly sweet and sincere person and an angel! :D

Suebee, my house is a WRECK, I have gone through it all. But I've taken a break. You know what the mess was prior to this with the 13, trying to extend it longer than legally allowed, then realizing their mistake! Got that mess straightened out and now this. It is always something isn't it?

I know exactly what you mean, Steelers - my weekend is proof positive of that one! I feel like the poster child for Murphy's Law right about now...things are NOT going as I had planned!

Keep your chin up - it WILL get better. And just when you stop looking for that money order receipt, it will pop up in the most unusual place! (And probably one you already looked in!)

I haven't had any luck Mishele. I have looked EVERYWHERE! I'm trying to settle down, and hope that it just pops up and smacks me in the face. It is just another one of those things that just when things are getting better and going along just fine, life is the one that slaps you back into reality! It does suck!

Steelers is having a crisis here, and we're disparaging her struggle by talking about smelly armpits? What happened to brain-storming to help a friend in need?

Will the trustee take a hand-written MO receipt? Maybe you can say the currency exchange's printer was broken that day and so they were writing MO's out on paper...

Or maybe you can start a blog. Like Ashley did, you can give people personal advice in exchange for their votes. Then at the end of the month you will have $100 extra bucks.
