OK...I just found this site about 2 weeks ago and I can't tell you all how much it has meant to me!! A special thanks to Steelers1 for giving me my first answers and setting me on the right path!!! :D

I have just spent the better part of 2 days going over all 10 of my PDLS. 4 I have overpaid already, 1 I only owe about $7.00, 3 are half paid and I do still owe balances on 2..only 1 or 2 payments were made before I closed my bank account.

Now...here is a question...I have a current loan with my cash now...which debits under Credit Protection. The loan was for $300. in which I have already paid $188. but...I had an earlier loan with them back in January of this year for $350. I paid that one off to the tune of $603.74!! Can I now use the same law (INDIANA) to notify them that I overpiad and ask them to use that amount to cover this new loan??? I think I would just about break even with them..LOL.

I also have entered into a debt management Program to help with the past due credit card debt and medical bills which fell behind while I was playing catch up with internet payday loans...I listed the pdls...but now need to tell my couselor to remove the ones that are paid etc. They do not seem to know much about them. If I send them the info: state law, my true balance and amount already paid, will/can they use that to try to make arrangements on the balance owed...or am I better off removing all of them and trying to deal myself??

Thank you to everyone here!! I am so happy to have found you guys...I am 56 and have been in and out of financial trouble for the past 18 years (since my divorce) and I have to say this is the first time I feel like I got things right and can build a better future!!!!

If I am right, these are all internet payday loans right? Many of us took on the task and defeated them ourselves. my cash now, goes by many different names, but I don't think they will allow an overpayment from an old loan to be applied to the new one. Have you filed complaints with your Attorney General's office yet? If not, do so, and let these ipdls know you have done this. The most important thing is that account is now closed, and you are back in control of your paycheck. :D

Yes, they are all internet loans...I am working on my letter to the AG and the Dept. of Financial Institutions, etc. I guess my biggest fear is trying to be sure I really understand the law. For example...I think according to Indiana law...they can only charge $37.50 on a $200. loan plus a 1 time fee of $20. for a returned debit. My brain will not accept that is all I owe when I have been paying so much for so long....and when I emailed Ntionwide and gave them the info and refused to pay..they actually owe me money...he called and left me a voice mail that I had it all wrong and because I entered into agreement with them I owed the balance and they were turning me over to the legal dept. I know you told me not to worry but...??? I still do...I just need to be sure I understand it correctly if I am going to take them all on!!!

You are going to be fine. Don't sweat Nationwides "legal department". It is their collections department. And this company will threaten you with arrest, YOU WILL NOT BE ARRESTED. And next time you talk to him ask why you are being told to send payment to Dennis Williams' company, Langhorne. I would like to know why they are saying to do that, when Langhorne no longer (supposedlly) with ipdls, but I know there is a connection with this Nationwide company. You are going to be fine, as each day passes you will notice your anxiety level decreasing and you are able to see things more clear.

Your right...In the last week I have relaxed so much more...and feel so much more confident. I just need to understand the laws better and I can take them all on!!
I read the posts about Lanhorn too...that's why I was so surprised when the guy at Nationwide gave me the Langhorne info to send a western union payment...which I of course didn't do...I found your info the night before he was expecting payment!!
