I have found bits and pieces about this company...mostly negative. I have an old debt from a First Premier Card that I have been trying to track down for a few months. It was with Pinnacle and they were not willing to work out a payment arrangement so I stopped bothering with them.

Tonight, I received a call from Arrow Financial. The woman was quite nice. She gave me a bunch of information which, according to my records, is accurate. She stated the company had sent a collection letter to me on the 24th, but I have not received it. She said I could wait to see if it came by Monday and if it hadn't, she would fax me a copy. I told her that was fine and if everything checks out, I would like to work out a payment plan of four equal payments via Western Union. She did say they prefer checks by phone, but I was clear that I would never give my banking information over the phone. She seemed fine with that.

I don't know. I know it is mine and I definitely want to pay it off. With the exception of the one debt I am paying off through another agency, this is my last bad account. It is only for about $1000.

Any tips, advice, good humor...nightmare stories. I see they do not have a good track record and have been fined in the past. I will give them the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Make sure that you have everything documented from Arrowhead before sending the payments. Get in writing that they will be marking your account as PIF with the bureaus and the creditor after you have paid as per the payment plan. If there is any dispute at the later, this written proof will come handy

My 2 credit cards with First Premier Bank that were charged off/written off, were taken up by arrow financial services. The 2 Arrow dings on my credit are scheduled to continue on my record until 3/08, and the First Premier info, listed seperately, doesn't have a date of removal. They say (card #1) "Status: Transferred,closed/Account charged off. $491 written off."; "Your Statement: Account closed at consumer's request"; "Account History: Charge Off as of Jan 2002 to Feb 2004". (card #2) "Status: Transferred,closed/Account charged off. $535 written off."; "Your Statement: Account closed at consumer's request"; "Account History: Charge Off as of Jan 2002 to Feb 2004".

Now, on my credit report, Arrow FS has listed as the "orig creditor", A.F.S. Assignee of First Premier Bank. If the ding is to go off Mar 2008, then they have in fact had "my acct" since Mar 2001 (7 years on credit report, right?).

Should I leave these 2 Arrow credit report collections alone since they are going off my credit in 7 months, and instead work on the collections that are going to be on my credit report until 2012-2014? I'm afraid to even contact Arrow with a DV letter!

OK, so I sent a debt validation letter to them because the amount they said I had to pay was double what the original debt was. Arrow is now on my credit report. I have the receipt from the post office dated back in early August. I contacted them when I found they were on my report and they said they don't have my account anymore. I told them that according my credit report, they do. I decided I was dealing with another moron and hung up. I filed notices with the three bureaus and am waiting to hear. This is what I get for giving them the benefit of the doubt.
