I have a ding on my Experian report for a wfnnb Lane Bryant credit card which I applied for and received when I was 17 years old. The report says "Transferred, closed/Never late; and Purchased by another lender. This is scheduled to continue on record until Dec 2014! Can this really be on my credit? The "Reported Since", "Date of Status" & "Last Reported" dates are all 12/2004.

You should immediately notify this item to Experian and request for verification. It seems to be incorrectly reported on your credit copy. Under the FCRA laws, accurate negative information can stay on the credit file for seven years only. These items are automatically removed from the credit report after the mentioned time frame.

If the account on your credit report says "transferred/closed - never late", and there are no other reports of this account on your credit report, you might want to call Lane Bryant and find out where the account went.

Did you ever have a balance on the account, and if so, did you pay it off, or did they just close the account?
