I have got about 7 payday loans, Only 1 has gone into default but these companies are taking more then half my paycheck in interest. I have been told that I could be charged with Fraud, that I can be arrested and sued, but I can't afford to have them do this anymore. Should I stop having my direct deposit go in so they stop taking this out, and when that happens I know I will be bombarded with phone calls, not just to me but to my references I needed for them and to my work as well. I have read almost every post I could find on this subject, and applied for loans that I can't get to try to pay them off. It seems as though you guys know much more of how to deal with this than I do, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Harris, to avoid this painful situation, you can change your checking account for the time being. Also, you can consider a consolidation program to ease your monthly payments.

Moreover, the creditors appreciate your enrollment in the debt consolidation programs. You can convince your debt consolidators that you are willing to pay this debt and thus you are looking for some easy repayments.

Thanks for your help. I have talked to a debt consolidator and a lawyer today and both advised me to stop my direct deposit and let these go into default. I was about 10 minutes from filing bankruptcy today, but then I talked to a consolidator who told me there was no need. They advised me to let these all default and they can both take over from there..the lawyer or the consolidator.

Also the people at sonicpayday called my HR dept. today as well as called and asked why I had not called them back after they told me I had to pay by last friday or I would be sued...just another one of their tricks I suppose.

Yes this is another one of their tricks. I have been able to work with a few of my payday loans that went into default and make payment arrangements. I was in the same position where all my money was going to interest. Good luck
