Thank God, they are all internet. You may now take a deep breath and relax. Here is an article I wrote about these crooks from the internet:

If you find out that any of these companies are not licensed or registered in your state, you legally do not have to pay them a dime, even if you did borrow money. Some state make loans illegal. So, either way, you keep your money.

I pulled up the list of companies licensed in TN and not one of those companies are on there. I am on the phone with my bank now. What is the first step I should take.
TN does not license any companies not physically located in TN .
TN does not license any companies not physically located in TN . . . . Internet based companies are allowed to lend to TN consumers as long as they are legally licensed in another state.

Exactly - And odds are good they are not licensed in any state.

Great. I ask the bank what it would take to get this stopped. He gave me the instructions as to what I need to do but I feel like I am going in circles.

Ok.. Stupid question. How do I find out if they are licensed in any other state? I tried to search some of them on the internet and got nothing.

First off I'd call them up and ask them what state they are licensed in. That at least gives you a starting point. If they can't answer, then odds are good they are not licensed at all. From looking at your list I can tell you that Pay Day OK may be licensed in DE, but all the rest are probably not going to be licensed. I know for sure that BIG isn't licensed anywhere.

Ok. I will get on that asap. If they are not licensed, like BIG, what can I do. If they are, I will have to pay them correct?

You need to go in person and talk to a branch manager. Over the phone is never the best option. Please read through the thread I posted above and don't take no for an answer.

What that pretty much says is that they have to stop doing business illegally in the state of CA.

Thanks. I am so stinkin confused. I have looked up some of these companies... I have no contact information.. I stupidly deleted the emails. Nothing pulls up on line. I was able to locate a few in Delaware and it says The Loan Shop neither PayDay OK is in good standing. They both have the same address.

One Click Cash and United Cash Loans are both d/b/a's of MTE Financial. Illegal. File complaints on every one of them. File one for One Click Cash, one for United Cash Loans, and one for MTE Financial. Have you sent your pdl's ANY letter at all like revoking their debit authorization, revoking any wage assignments, contacting you only via email or USPS? Have you sent them anything yet? And have you filed any complaints yet?

Unfortunately, I am dealing with Bank of America. I spoke with the Overdraft Dept and the Customer Service. I've been told several different things, ultimately leading to they will not put my account on hold. Goudah told me to go in person. That is where I am going first thing in the am if I can get off work.

j, I'm re-reading your posts. Hang tight. You have some pdl's that I've dealt with. I have contact information on them. I'm at work and my information is at home. When I get home, I can look up your loans, give you the information that I have, and also look up some other ones to see if I can find them. Are you needing any in particular? We can get this done fairly easily. We can also walk you through the letters to be sent. However, I didn't read far enough yet to see about your bank account.

I have the addresses for "mother" company for Payday Ok and The Loan Shop. And United Cash Loans and One Click Cash. That is the only four. I have to get kids to practice in about an hour, but I will be on until I leave and as soon as I get home.
I really don't know how to thank you. I don't know what else to do.
j
j, you've GOT to make them do something with that bank account! I've heard nasty stories about your bank. Your very first priority is to get that taken care of ASAP so that these pdl's don't hit again. Tell them (in person) that illegal companies are taking unauthorized debits out of your account. Lie. Tell them you are working with an attorney regarding these illegal companies. Tell them whatever! Tell them you want it closed with the assurance that it will not be forced open due to pending pdl debits. If they can not promise you that won't happen, then tell them to put a hard debit block on the account NOW! Do not take no for an answer. Do whatever it takes (without hurting anyone! LOL!). You must walk out of there with either a closed account or a hard debit block on your account. Only speak with the branch manager. As this is the only person who can work with you on this. j, get this taken care of ASAP before the pdl's hit again. And, like I said, make up a friggin story. Tell them you have a lawyer. Whatever. Make them close it/block it before you walk out that door!
OK. I guess I will have to grow some to handle this huh?

You've come to the right place. Most all of us have been or are currently going through the pdl mess. We know what to do and how to do it to fix everything.
And no question is a bother. It could be important! Please, ask away!

I appreciate you all so much.. I know my kiddos will be glad when their mama is back to normal. I never realized what a mess this could be. All from getting a little bit behind. Now I am way behind and haven't got a clue.
