OMG Sue he is sooo cute. I love his big ears lol. I also got a collie/shepard mix from our shelter as a puppy. He was the best dog. But when he was 8 years old we had to put him down due to a spinal cord problem. But when I do get another dog it WILL be from a shelter again. Hubby won't let me go in one right now because he knows I would come home with a car full of animals :D

I know what you mean puddljmpr - the kids and I routinely go to the shelter a couple of times a month and walk the dogs, play with the cats, etc - to help the volunteer staff out. I'd take them all home if I could.
Aw, Barney is a DOLL!!! He looks like he has such a personality!

Oh, Sue-he is sooo cute!! Ireally miss not having a doggie  There is no way I could go to the shelter, I WOULD take them all home  I have been thinking about getting another dog, since I had to put mine to sleep a year ago, but that one about killed me! I think I will go to the shelter when I do get one though..KAren
Shelters are your best source for pets, or rescues...never ever
Shelters are your best source for pets, or rescues...never ever buy from a breeder or pet store. (Except when it comes to fish or small rodents/snakes...where you don't have much choice.) If you can rescue even one dog or cat from being put down due to shelter overcrowding, it's one that will be forever grateful to you. All of my animals I've ever had have always come from shelters or were give-aways that would have ended up in a shelter.
