i had a company call my job yesterday and speak to my boss. they told him that since he verified employment for me, that he became part of the contract. so they are going to serve him and me summons to appear in court in california. we live in maryland. they said my boss would have to appear to verify that everything on the contract is true. i am at my wits end with this situation. i don't know how to get out of this mess. none of the lenders will allow me to make payments through the mail. they only want the full amount through western union. any advice on what i should do? i need these people to stop harassing my boss,.

You need to write a cease and desist letter asap, telling these people that they can only contact you through mail. No more phone calls. They may stop or they may not. you need to explain the situation to your boss , telling him that these are illegal companies trying to take money from you. The most important thing is that these are idle threats. Nothing is going to happen to you or yiur boss. Theycan not arrest you , or take you to court . Please stress this to your boss. Nothing can or will happen. Its just threats

First we need to figure out what company it is. Secondly stating that your boss has now become part of the contract is just pure you know what. They can't serve you in Maryland and they certainly cannot expect you to come to CA. I'm assuming that this was an ipdl that you had? If so you should know that the laws in MD state that all pdl's are prohibited. You only need to pay back the principal. Someone correct me on the interest because I'm still a bit foggy on that. If you still have money that you owe they will except pmt however you give it to them. I did this before with a cash advance. I sent them a money order in the mail for $5.00 because that's all I felt that they deserved. (I had already paid back way more than what I had borrowed) Make them send you correspondence by mail from now on as well, and let your boss know he/she does not have to take those calls.
