I am a foodie...I love talking about food, reading about food, watching it on TV and of course consuming food. About mid-day I start thinking of what I am going to have for dinner.

So tell us, whats for dinner tonight in your home?

Ok ladies and Luke. The cake came out great and it was four layers. With whipped cream frosting. It was really yummy. I made a double choclate pudding cake so it was reallymoist too. Not bad for the first try. He loved it ...for once I got a compliment from the Chef..literally. Karen I had the biggest piece in your honor. We also had steak..which is not my fave... I would rather have eaten with Luke. Lasagna is one my favorites. Everytime my mom comes I beg her to make it. Thank you all for hanging with me on this. I was sooooooo nervous making this for him. And Luke, welcome back.

Volley, I'm glad you are getting pizza! I LOVE it! In fact, I have a little left over in the fridge...I'm about to get a slice. :-) Only now, I'm craving lasagna. I think that might be what's for dinner tomorrow night!
Roxy, you are better than me! I can barely deal with two layers, much less four! I know my cake would have ended up on the floor, counter...basically everywhere except on the cake plate. :-) I'm glad your instructor liked it. I'm sure it was scrumptious!

Well, I'm still not following the diet- hoping the fish oil and meds work!!I want lazagna, and steak and salmon, and your cake!!!
You are right, I have to have my liver enzymes checked ofter- I don't remember the name of the new med he gave me!!

I have plans tomorrow night, so we are going to do the Bertolis Shrimp linguini with alfredo sauce and bread sticks- out to help my count to hit an even 1,000  Karen

Well my husband has tried almost every single choles. med out there and the only thing that has EVER worked for him is diet.... only thing the meds did was make his liver enzymes high... so another problem... finally he decided to try an almost meat free diet and it worked... Ashame for him cuz he loves red meat but after not having it for years u really don't miss it that much. None of my kids but one will even touch it! ha ha
Good Luck with ur cholesterol Bossy!
I know what a constant battle it can be.

I have tried the diet, lots of exercise, lost weight, etc., and it just made my points go higher  The meds have worked in the past, along with diet, but I had gone off of them because they were so expensive! I have never had a problem with my enzymes-knock on wood-

I don't eat alot of red meat, in fact haven't for a while, but I have to watch products like cheese, ice cream, sweets, etc.,--you know- all the good things!..KAren

Yea i hear that! My husband's been on meds for 15 years and NEVER had a problem til the beginning of this year (after he started taking Omicar, not sure if i'm spelling it right) But since coming off the meds they've come down tremendously... So he's back on the strictly vegetarian diet and his chol is way down too.
Much Luck

Yea he was on Crestor and Omicar, that's the fish oil pills, only prescribed ones they make is Omicar. The crestor brought his level down a LOT but the combination of the 2 i guess is what did his liver in!
All's better now so just make sure u have them checked cuz they can change in a very short tiem as his did!

Being from teh south trust me i KNOW how hard it is to change ur life style with food!! It was very hard for us but we did it and it's helped tremendously and now i can't hardly even eat fast food cuz it makes my stomach hurt!! So after a while u dont' even want it!
I'll ask hubby when he gets home later about the deal with those fish oil pills and let u know waht he says are the best ones that work!!
U can think of lots of things to grill on the ol Foreman grill!! And it's quick n easy too!
Good luck bossy!
