I am seeing a $30.00 debit from my account every few days and I don't even know who this company is or what company they are collecting for. Anyone know how to contact them?

Well, I do not want to volunteer any information that I believe may benefit the payday vultures who I suspect are monitoring this site for information to help them further elude the law and continue to steal money. I have reached out to law enforcement because I believe that the payday companies are deliberately and brazenly breaking state and federal laws, not to mention engaging in fraud. I don't know who's who on this website, but I just want to express my belief that these payday loan-con artists-trixters will soon be brought to justice by government entitiies responsible for enforcing the law... I believe that this will be happening soon, big time! Have a nice day. :-) 1000% interest...I don't think so!

On the May of 2006, I got a loan from this company called GFSIL for $200.00, our agreement over the phone is that I will pay them back the same Friday of the week, cause that is my payday. The following next Monday I checked my bank statement, it show $80.00 withdraw from GFSIL. I called them and asked them what is going on, they said I'm supposed to call them 3 days before I'm supposed pay them back. But they didn't told me that over the phone and also that is not our agreement.
I then told them to withdraw the money I owe them right the way, which is another $275.00, but they told me that they cannot do it right the way, they have to wait till May 31th, wich is on Wed.
But back in May 26th when this company GFSIL took the $80.00 out of my account and this RIO Resources also took out $30.00.
But at that time the amount is too small, I didn't noticed.
So after that day, I thought everything is taking care of, and is a done deal, and I hardly check my bank statment anymore.
On the June 9th RIO took out another $90.00, June 23rd another $90.00, July 7th - $90.00, July 21st - $140.00 and Aug 4th - $125.00. I finally checked my bank statement due to some checks has bounds.
This RIO been taking out close to $600.00 in my account during these 3 months
Now who are you RIO? I never done any business with you guys, why are you taking money out of my account???
I reported to the bank beinging of this week, the bank file a report, and RIO returned $445.00 of my money back yesterday, which is Aug 18th.
Now if I do have business dealing with RIO, why do they returned my money back to me? So now is showing that RIO realized we are on to them, and they gave me some of my money back, but they still owe me $120.00, which I'm going to report this matter to the police, and file charges againest them. I find this website, and tried all the numbers, 866-539-7504, this number you only going to talk to the machine, (505) 293-2316 and this is not a working number, 804-687-3959 a guy answered, but when I asked is this RIO Resources, he said is a wrong number and hang up on me.
People, if you reading my story, let's put this together and go after this RIO Resources, don't just sat there and let them do that to you and somebody else. I believed RIO Resources and GFSIL are the same company. They used GFSIL to loan me the money, and then used this RIO company name and take the money out of my account, is a scam!!!!!

RachelFFF is right they are a no-faxing-payday-loan service. And they been taking out $110 out of my account like twice a month when trying to call to see if they can discontinue I just get a recording that the next schedule payment of loan pay off has been processed it is too late to make changes. I requested for a fax of change of information. Which was a recording as well. I have not received it yet but so far the number is 866-539-7504 as states on RachelFFF comment. This was my first and last time processing one of these. I am really upset with the outcome...I more then paid off my debt.

msims, after you have closed your account, the loan company will contact you for making the payments. In most cases, they simply hire a collection agency for recovering the amount. Have you contacted the company and worked out some payment plans with them? If you are able to work out something with them, you can stop a lot of aggressive collections that might come your way in the future. I will insist you to call the lender and see if you can pay off your debt through some arrangements.

Christina you don't understand it is not a collection agency. It is a company fraudlently taking out money in our accounts that we did not authorize them to take out the money. We do not owe Rio Resources any money and if you read everyone comments you will see. It all starts with a pay day loan you take out..You pay the pay day loan off and sneakly another company that is not your pay day loan starts taking out money in your account as well and that is illegal.

That certainly is illegal. Any loan company must have the authorization first before withdrawing money. Well, it is more important to take legal actions against such companies with whom you don't have the loan and they have access to your bank account. Either, you should change your bank account or get your bank to block the company from doing the debit further. You also need to file your formal complaints with the FTC, your local AG office etc.

I have had the same incident as many others have had. I only had a $25.00 debit to my accout, but many others have had larger debits. Is this process legal. how can an istitution withdraw money from accounts and the owner of the account have to reccolection of debit. isn't it required by law that they notify you before withdrawing money, whether it be a past debt or not? this strikes me as odd that so many individuals would be having the same issue and have no clue what this company is??? please provide me with some answers. and leave a CORRECT number!

I just called Rio Resources to make arrangements on my loan Margo would not help at all. She said that it was being turned over to an outside collection agency on 9/16 unless I paid it immediately. Well its the 14th and United Cash is now calling and being threatening, so much for the 16th. I can't pay the lump sum what should I do since neither company is being helpful - and they certaintly aren't nice!!

Rio Resources outside collection agency is United Legal Corp. Rio Resources is not licensed to lend in any state, and they violate several state laws. United Cash Loans is on the level of Rio Resources. They are both located in Miami, Oklahoma at the same address. How much was the loans for and how much have you paid so far? What state do you live in? Some states have banned pdls, and alot of states have made laws tougher on the pdls.

kitchenparamedic,

Here is something I found in regards to Oregon.

Quote:

By ignoring state licensing and registration laws, a payday loan operation was shut down by the Department of Justice.
In February 2002, Attorney General Hardy Myers stated that an unlicensed payday loan business was forced out of operation after in Bend, Oregon after the Department of Justice obtained a temporary restraining order and filed suit in the Deschutes County Circuit Court.

It appears that A1 Cash Advance was using the courts to attempt to collect on loans in which it they had charged illegal amounts of interest. Court records proved that A1 Cash Advance had filed 153 cases seeking repayment of delinquent loans, in which the interest rates were 400 to 500 percent.

The lawsuit requests a permanent injunction against the defendants from operation of a short-term personal loan company in the state of Oregon. It also seeks the return of the illegally obtained interest collected on the loans from December 17, 1999. \

Currently, people seeking information on payday loan providers in Oregon may speak with the Attorney General or seek help online at www.doj.state.or.us. Those living in Oregon may also check out the licenses of lenders by calling the Division of Finance and Corporate Securities at 503-378-4140.

Looks to me that you have paid back the principal. Please check out pollyandsays blog. She has a templete there to use.

Keep trying to find a number bcause these people are no where to be found. I have been calling the 866 number for a week now and Iam having no success.
These people are charging me for a loan that I have not received yet, and I have tried those numbers above and I found a Brandon who seems disturbed about the amount of calls he has received in reagards to Rio Resources and the 505 # is disconnected so I am about to go legal on this company and stop payment on them also. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

They have taken several amounts from my account at different times. I have contacted my bank and through some research I found that Bremer Bank is taking the money out for this company. It's a big mess to say the least and It has caused me great trouble. I advise anyone not to mess with them.
I have this number if anyone wants to give it a try
Bremer Bank
651-734-4726
I have called and left a message but to no a vail no one has called me back.
Fill out an affidavit with your bank and they will get you your money back. It's taking lots of time for me but this is necessary or they will keep taking from your account.

Do not give out your cking acct # dont ask for quick loans-very bad! Dispute your eft draft and close your acct. I paid all my loans back and several months later, they started debiting my cking acct for no reason. The bank says don't give out your bank acct #-go to a credit counselor.

for all those who have had dealings with mte i wouldly simply call my bank to have all withdraws stopped..or you can simply change your account number. these slime balls will not take you to court and as far as garnishment of wages most states require a court order. do not let these slime ball thieves get away with this.
