I have been reading the forum and I am a little confused. I have 7 payday loans, 3 store front and 4 internet ones. I will list my loans at the bottom of this message, but I had a few questions that I hope someone can answer. My first question is, do internet companies have to have a license in the borrower's home state, or just in the state where the loan comes from? Also, do the internet pdl companies have to follow the laws of the borrower's home state or just the state they originate in? Another question I have is about two of my store front loans. I looked at the Office of Financial Institutes' website and I didn't see where these two companies were licensed in Louisiana. Does that mean anything in having to follow the laws (interest rate, etc) when paying them back? Finally, how do I find out what state my internet companies are located in? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Store front loans:
Check into Cash $300 borrowed, paid approx. $360
Mr. Check $350 borrowed, paid approx $1500
Ready Cash $300 borrowed, paid approx. $1000
(Ready Cash and Mr. Check were the two that I could not find license info on)

Internet loans:
MyCashNow $500 borrowed paid approx. $438
Cash Central $300 borrowed paid $225
East Side Lenders $300 borrowed paid $360
CashNetUSA $300 borrowed paid $45

shay, it's not on their website under "contact us" or something stupid like that? Or is that the one listed on the website. Did you try using the search box in the top right hand corner of this page? Type the pdl name in and see if you get any contact information. If not, I can try to search myself. But I know a LOT of members have used this pdl, so maybe someone has a "direct" email. Hang on, try the search, I will too, and hopefully someone who has dealt with them can just post a "good" email address.

Here is a letter I got from MyCashNow, one of the most illegal pdl companies out there:

After giving me their Western Union and MoneyGram info, they added:

Now keep in mind that I borrowed $500 from them and paid back (according to their own records) $560, but now they are saying that I own over $800. That company only handles business over the phone. I have asked numerous times not to be called, but I was told that they do not accept emails. I am totally fed up with them!

shay, oh my Lord. These illegal idiots are talking about "legal action" and "court costs"? Can I laugh out loud? Has your state AG contacted these yahoos at all???

Cannr, I haven't contacted the AG's office about this yet. I am not exactly sure what I am supposed to say in a letter to them.

Shazzers, they don't intimidate me at all. We are at a stalemate, they refuse to accept my emails and I refuse to accept their phone calls, lol. I can hear such frustration in their voices when they leave me voice mail msgs, LOL!
