I just got a call from 500 Fast Cash saying that I took a loan out and I owe $400. I did take loan out with United cash loans/MTE Financial for $300. I found this site and then I closed my account and started the road to recovery from PDL hell!!

I sent BBB a complaint and I just got an email this morning stating that they forwarded it to MTE and I can check the status online.

I told the chick from 500 Fast cash that I will not discuss this on the phone and only correspond via email or us mail. She said they don't do that and whatever and she wanted my bank phone number so we could confirm the deposit or whatever. She called me at work and I hung up on her.

Now...what do I do??? I haven't paid MTE anything and I do NOT want them harassing me at work. They sent me this "

Help guys!!

lucy, they have cease & desist orders in a few states. Not all. They actually are not licensed/legal in any state in the United States. Just not all states have issued a cease & desist to them. However, legally you don't have to pay them squat! LOL! Legally, they can't do squat to you! Maybe we all need to drive to the Indian Reservation and torch a few tee-pees. Now, you do realize, knowing all of this, that I am sooooooooo gathering this up and sending it in to the Oklahoma Attorney General. I would like to see a cease & desist in every state. Good for me.....

OKLAHOMA credit regulators issued the cease & desist order. As their physical location is in Oklahoma perhaps they'll be run out of Oklahoma soon, too.

Lucy - Ive previously checked with IL Department of Financial & Profession Regulation. IL requires them to be licensed in order to do business with us Illini !!!

My C&D order for United Cash Loans came from Oklahoma AG. I'm also a resident of Oklahoma, so it's easier on me to deal with one states laws

The person I'm dealing with in the AG office says they are on the UCL's trail and tired of them scamming people.

Hopefully they'll be shut down!

More ammo - here's a list of well knowns who have joined in the fight against PDL's.
The National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators (NACAA), recently joined state attorneys general, AARP, Center for Responsible Lending, Consumer Federation of America, National Association of Consumer Advocates, and the National Consumer Law Center in filing a friend of the court brief in State of Colorado ex rel. Suthers v. Cash Advance and Preferred Cash Loans.
Please refer to this link:

Definitely worth monitoring - anxious to see outcome

lucy, nothing. You don't reside in a state where a cease & desist has been issued for them. Still, they are an unlicensed/illegal lender. What you're trying to do is pay the principle amount of the loan only. Nothing more. All this information is just written proof that they are unlicensed/illegal. We already know that. But this is great information to have to file complaints. But, lucy, you stay on the path that you're on. Don't let all of this sway you. Yes, they are illegal. Yes, we know that. You're doing fine with what you are doing. Now, if you lived in Oklahoma maybe it would be different! And also for me too! LOL!

FYI (Lucy - since we both live in IL) I plan to contact the IL regulatory office again & let them know that the company/dba's have been traced to an indian tribe in OK & they are claiming sovereignty. Personally, Ive paid them back the principal I borrowed. It's the right thing to do. However, Im not paying anymore fees & definitely feel more confident that peeps of importance & high profile agencies are onto their scam & fighting them.
I was so excited on my train ride home that I let my lawyer friend read the two prints I had. The decision in Maine & then the pending litigation in Colorado. He was impressed with the solid reputations that are involved with the Colorado suit. AARP, State Attorneys general. He made a great point; these agencies have the assets/funds to continue the 'fight' per say with the indian tribe; he also said with the AARP's huge membership & media outlets that more peeps will be educated about these illegal PDL's.

Imagine an elderly person dealing with the harassment from these PDL's that we are !!

He did raise an interesting point - In the Colorado suit the trial court ordered the Indian tribe apparently running the PDL's to produce the documents of sovereign immunity & instead of producing the papers & proceeding - the lender did not & appealed.
Like my friend said; 'If they have them & its their core defense, produce them !'.

Awful fishy . . . .

I would like to see you head out to the reservation to "torch some tee-pees". So not only do you advocate for members of this forum to commit fraud by refusing to repay their debts, you are also a racist.

Commit fraud? Good grief. You want to talk legalities? How about this? How about the fact you don't furnish copies of anything upon request? How about furnishing invoices so that the customer can keep detailed accounting as to what is being paid to you? How about continued harassment after being told to cease and desist? And by the way, failing to pay a loan is NOT fraud, it's default and therefore a civil matter.
