I can't find the original post I posted on regarding PDL debt. You responded to me earlier this morning. i am the lady from New York in PDL debt. I emailed one of the companies (payday2go) and told them that it was illegal in New york. A man called me and said it is only illegal for storefront, not internet and he said he will contact my employer and garnish my wages - because I agreed to it in the signed contract. Can they really do that?

calm down . I also had a loan with payday2go. ILLEGAL ILLEGAL ILLEGAL. I believe that they are one of the companies that has a wage assignment. It is voluntary, so send then asap a letter , e mail that says you revoke it. Give a copy also to your employer. I told you to not contact any of these people until you closed your account. I hope you did that. If not you need to get to the bank asap. They will bleed you dry, especially since they now know you will defaut. They can not garnish your wages. Tell your employer that this is an illegal company. In order for anyone to garnish your wages they would need a court order. AN ILLEGAL CO. CAN NOT GET A COURT Order. This guy has his info totally wrong.
Anyway, payday2 go will threaten you , but that is all they can do.Please dont forget to file complaints with the BBB and ag of NYS.

Ok great guest has found us. Guest why dont you register, its free and it will help you find your posts easier.
I am so glad that you closed your account this am. good, now you can pay these people back on your terms. It is a good feeling to have control of your money again. It is very unnerving when the phine calls start, but please try your best to believe that all they can do is threaten, and they will. They will threaten anything from taking your salary to arresting you. None of this can they do. Always remember that your are dealing with illegal companies

Hi Gina , Glad you could register. Did you send the letters revoking the wage assignments. Rremember they are strictly voluntary and can be revoked at any time.
If you are ashamed to tell you employer the truth, just tell them there was some identity theft on your account. No employer will take money from you to pay an illegal company.
If you dont feel comfortable write your letters.and simply state your intentions. Please tell me you revoked any wage assignments you may have signed.

I received another call on my job from Payday2go. They said they are not obligated to New York laws, Only international laws and they will now proceed with the next steps in garnishing my paycheck.

Ambassador send me anemail saying: We are license in new Mexico, you took this loan on line which we have to bye by the laws in New Mexico, also you did sign a legal contract when you took out this loan. What you going to send a letter to the attorney general stating you took out a loan and can't pay it back to us.

This stuff is scary....

DOn't let them scare you. Stand your ground. I had one yesterday who told me I needed to contact my state's Ag office so they could explain the law to me. I told Fine I had no problem filing a complaint against them. They are not above state law no matter what they think. It is tough but you will get through it.

Please stop worring. They are illegal. We all have all had to deal with this. They cant do anything at all. ILLEGAL. In order to garnish wages thay need a court order, They are not legal , they can not get a court order. You sent them a letter revoking wage assigmnets. As far as them sending a letter to the AG that is possibly the funniest thing I have heard an illegal company say. It is us the consumer that notifies the Ag, not the illegal company.

Gina/Guest-These PDL's are DESPERATE!!!

Do not take any more of their calls....period. As a matter of fact, in your letter to them you need to tell them to STOP CALLING!

I am curious, you mentioned that you are having talks with them about the laws, etc....I am coming in late here, but is your account closed?

Have you sent the letters out yet?

Again, what Pyb and Kash are telling you is spot on....they will say ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to scare you.

I am so glad I found this website. I feel better knowing that there is nothing they can do to me but harass me with threatening phone calls and emails. I have contacted all the companies except 500 fast cash. I can't find an email or fax # for them. I have informed the companies that I have overpaid that they should mark my account as "paid in full" because I paid over and beyond the original loan amount and if they want to get technical - they owe me money. For the other companies that I borrowed from that I still owe money towards the orginal loan amount(which is two) I told them that I am willing to make a payment arrangement with them to finish paying the loan amount only (I have not heard back from these companies). Thanks again to all of you who have been so very helpful. I will keep you posted!

if anyone has contact info for 500 fast cash please provide it.

P.S. I have had so many loans with a few of these companies in the past where I paid them off with at least $500 to $700 in overpayment. I would rollover, paydown and then eventually finish paying the loan only to get a new one a couple of weeks later. they really took me for a ride and have received close to $3000 in fees in the past 2 or 3 years. I will never ever never again fall into this trap!

No, bossy. They've changed a ton of their d/b/a addresses (gee, really?) but the MAIN address is the one I posted above. The majority of their d/b/a's "moved" (imagine that). However, MTE at the above posted address is still good. :D

Good Morning, I heard back from Nationwide/Ambassador. This is what she said,
"I can offer you a settlement in the amt $870.00 to close out your acct with us.To avoid us from taken legal action against you." The lady who emailed me is Liz Rolland. The loan was for $600 (i thought it was $400 but I reviewed my bank statements and it was for $600) Anyway, I made one rollover payment of $120. I don't want to pay her $870. I want to clear the principal loan amount. I emailed her back and said since I already made a payment for $120, I am willing to close the account by paying $480. I don't know if she will accept that. We shall see.

Gina, You are in NY correct? PDLs are not leagl in NY. Ambassadoe is not a legally operating company . I am also from NY. You are obligated (if you chose) to only pay back the principle amount borrowed. Please tell Liz, that you will pay back only the amount borrowed. Let her know that you have filed complaints with the BBB and the AG of NY. Stick to your guns Gina. There is nothing thay can do except threaten you.
