I took out a Pay Day Loan. I have made some payments, then I had to stop. I just recieved a fax at work with the PD company threating to contact my HR department because I applied online at work. IS there anything I can do, and are they allowed to harrass me at work like that.

The first thing I would do is to revoke any and all wage assignments that you may have signed.Wage assignments are strictly voluntary. Give a copy to your employer as well. They are using a scare tactic to force you to pay.You also need to send them a cease and desist letter telling them to only contact you via e mail or usps. Some will listen, some will not.

Tell them you are not permitted calls at work and they must stop according to law. That does not mean they will because most of these companies are illegally operating anyway. Could you give us the following info? Who is the lender, how much did you borrow, how much have you paid back including fees and rollovers and also, what state do you live in. If you agreed to any wage assignment you must send a letter revoking it and give a copy to your HR dept.

All you need to say is
I (name) do hereby revoke any and all wage assignments that I may have signed for you or any of your affiliates.

For the cease and desist letter, just tell them that they need to refrain from any phone contact at your place of employment (and your home if you dont want them calling tere either).Tell tem they can only contact you via e mail or uspu

Thank You all,
I will do this, and follow up to let you know what is going on.
I have other PD loans, and will need your help. However I can only handle one at a time. If there is a better approach please let me know. I am at work now and will not be available for the rest of the day and will check back tomorrow.
Regards,
JMP

I would suggest that if you have other loans you also send them the letters, to try to avoid any problems that may pop up from them.
I am glad that you are getting to work on the letters, but please let us know about the other loans so we can help. we need to know
Who you have loans out with?
How much you have borrowed?
How much you have repaid to each lender?. Fees and principle to get one total repaid for each lender.
Are your loans store front or internet?
what state you live in?

One more bit of advice..Get the letter of defense (revocation letter) to HR before sending copies to your PDLS. Also, for the defense letter to HR, make sure it is a blanket letter, and VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!! date it and sign it. I am an HR lady, and I would NOT accept a letter of defense that is not dated.
