It seems this forum gets (sometimes more than) it's share of flamers (people who post derogative comments with the intent to cause grief/anger) Perhaps a policy should be adopted to delete such comments as they show no constructive comment and may actually pose a TOS violation. At the very least we need to disregard these types of comments as it only feeds their desire to attempt to post more derogative remarks.

Regards

JCEMT

I don't blame you a bit for responding! I am seasoned now, this has been going on for as long as I have been here. Sometimes it gets really, really ugly. I delete these things as fast as I can, and so do the other mods. Mike said the techs are working on a system to help prevent this. I think people who have the need to post garbage like this really need our pity.

jcemt, the forums are moderated. It's just a matter of "catching" the posts. I'm sure you are aware of how many posts there are. And the mod's do try to keep an eye out. And, if you will notice, posts are deleted and posts are edited. There is a policy regarding the TOS. People have been "banned" when necessary. I do understand you bringing up this subject. But the admins and the mods do thier best to try to "keep up". Sometimes it gets "bombed" and the mods work their butts off deleting posts and the admins work hard at figuring out who is who and what is what and getting it taken care of.

I love you too.
Guests have to be approved to post in pub. On the left, see the thingie that says "pending guest posts"? That's the pergatory for yet-to-be approved posts..We read them, and either ok them or delete them. It's usually stuff like "Nice site" or "hello, thanks!". The spammers are much smarter now, they register and post in the other forums.

I figured you would.

I guess it's just something we have to deal with, the spam. we are a huge site, really the biggest of this kind. Yes, we have made a few enemies, and if all they can do is post nonsense, than that's fine. We just have to remember this is the web. Anyone can say anything, and for all we know it's a 12-yr-old with really bad acne posting that stuff. We're never going to be able to stop it, no matter what we do. And, we mods can't just delete whatever we feel like..As long as there is no vulgarity or vicious attacks we have to leave it.

I understand now that it needs to stay anonymous in order to stay open--and there are probably many people who like myself actually read many posts before I attempted to post anything myself--I am sure from many of the guest and anonymous comments that CA's get very upset here because all you wonderful people here are educating people on their rights when pursued for collection--just makes it more work to surf through all the spam for you moderators! Even after only a couple of days of reading various posts on this site I could tell when it was obviously a debt collector venting rage at truth this sight has been spreading! Keep up the good work!

thank you for your support and you don't realize how wonderful that makes me feel in return!@--I know it sounds corny but the reason I have stuck around is to thank you all for the kind help and support most of you offered me and it didn't cost me a single cent! People who originally find this sight probably are very suspicious and have had their rights violated and feel very bad before they actually find this community-- most people can't understand why they have been treated in a very bad manner if it is actually legal--and I hope the positive support on this site continues to help people in the way that has kept me coming back over and over ! I felt support after being treated very badly for no reason and the kindness I received from this site prompted me to spread the word and to try and help the next victim! thank you all for being here! :P and it seems very strange to me that people are thanking me now! I have stayed just because I know the help and support I received was genuine! I am only here supporting you because you are doing the right thing! Please keep it up :P :P :P :P :P

Fins is right- there have, and always will be spam and flamers! It goes through a spell where we get tons of it, and then it slows down for a while.

All the mods work to keep the Forums clean and working, sometimes there is so much- it takes a while to get it off.

As was said, there are TOS rules, and we all have to go by them. I try not to respond to idiots posting nonsense- that's what they want!

If it gets really bad or you see spam, go to the Pub Forum and there is a thread to Report Spam.

Thanks to all of you for helping keep this place running!!..karen :D :D
