Got up this morning to check my email. Had an alert from my bank. It was alerting me that I am overdrawn. I checked on-line. There was a $400 deduction from SHW Recovery on there. WTF??? I did a search on here for SHW Recovery and connected it with EastSide Lenders. Now, how in the hell (yes, I've read stories) did they get my information? This morning will be spent at the bank. I can't even type. Anyone heard of SHW? All I found was someone else had money taken out of their account by them and it was in regards to a loan with EastSide Lenders. I swear to God, I am sick.

Oh Crap Cannr, I am so sorry that this happened. WTF??
You must be devastated. You poor thing. How in the world could this happen. You know , I am hearing this more and more. it makes me even more paranoid than I already am. Please sweetie, let me know hoe you make out at the bank.

kash, I can't even type. I'm getting ready now so I can be at the bank by 9:00 waiting for them to open the door. I swear to God, I'm having a panic attack here. How did they do this? I know we've read more and more posts lately about this happening, but how did they do this? I'm so sick.

I am curious also about how this happened. We have been reading about it, more and more. Apparently it is no longer something that has a slim chance of happening. I refuse to keep money in the banks any more. I have heard of this one to many times, and it scares the crap out of me.I suppose like Geneva Roth told that person, there really is an agency that helps the PDLs fins out account numbers and banks.

Sounds like an "old wives tale"; however, I do believe it's true now. What the hell am I supposed to do? Not have a bank account at all? This is insane. And I'm scared to death about going to the bank. You know how they are, "pay the NSF fees", then they charge $6 a day every single day that it's in the negative. Uh, cannr only has ten bucks to her name. Does anyone know an address or who these people "really" are? Because if I'm going to file any complaints, I need to know who they are and some kind of address for them. God, panic attack here.

Oh, SHW Recovery will return the debit to the jerks who debited because there was $1.43 in there. So, it'll be returned regardless. It's the matter of if they're going to charge me the NSF fees for being overdrawn. My "last" bank worked with me very well on all this drama with pdls. They took all charges off. This is a "new" bank. I don't know how they're going to handle it since I haven't had any illegal debits taken out until now. And you know it's going to happen again. They're going to turn around and try to resubmit that $400. God, this is giving me a headache all over again. It's never ending.

Did you payoff a PDL with your new account? How did they get your new account? Is it possible someone u know applied for one with your new account? If you did nothing then it makes me wonder if the banks are in cahoots with the PDL toads....so if this is possible then no bank is safe.....

No, I have not given my new account to ANYONE. No one. No one knows my account number (I have no life or friends!). This just came out of the blue this morning. The bank doesn't open until 9:00. I'll be there when they open the door. I'll ask them if they know how this "company" got my account information. And also ask how can they debit any money from my account without my authorization. Hell, I'll ask, but don't know what they're going to tell me. This is a nightmare come true. I swear, here goes the whole thing again. It seems like it's starting all over again. kash, thanks for the phone number. I don't know what the hell to say when I call it, but I'll call it after I see what the bank says. What kind of defense do I have with the bank? I did not authorize this company to debit my account in any way. Hell, I've never even heard of this company. Now, of course, I've heard of EastSide Lenders. But not these people. And when I had my pdls, they were all from the "old" account. Different bank completely.

Cannr..I hope your bank will work with you. I think we have all been in your situation. I know when this happened I went to the bank...and they immediatly took all charges off my account. It was an electronic check and stated on the check "signature not required." It was from a marketing agency I had never heard of..but I assumed it was for a IPDL. Keep your chin up it will be OK.

OMG my stomach just flipped! cannr, Im so sorry this has happened. Ask your bank about signing an affidavit that the charge is not authorized so that they can return the debit without charging your account NSF fees. Im now scared to keep a checking account. Please let us know what the bank says.

Most pdl's are ultimatly OWNED by banks. So yes, there are some connections.

You will be able to dispute and get the money back. It's just a pain in the butt.

Cannr - Do you have any normal ACH transactions coming out of the account? Insurance? Anything like that? If you don't, maybe you should open a new account, and have then not allow ACH's.

I'm am concerned as Ambassador tried to pull a fast one on me just 2 weeks ago and ACH my 1st new account for $600+, I was very busy and did a dumb thing and paid off a PDL with a check from that account as I didn't have time to go get a MO plus still green at this process but learning fast but I managed to get every dime back, I have a friend at the bank that is watching to see if anymore hit, and she will decline any ACH debts. Going to keep this account active as a decoy since they can't send a ACH or E-check to it, might keep them busy.....

They are disputing the debit. I had to sign something. The lady at the bank called the phone number listed next to the debit. Which is a different phone number than what kash posted. They actually argued with the lady at the bank. They did not answer with a company name, refused to tell what "kind" of company they were, etc. They wanted my name. No way. So we kept going back and forth with them on the phone and the guy told the bank lady "we will continue to debit that account until we get our money." She then told him "This is being rejected and labeled as fraud." and hung up on him. She said any company that will not answer the phone with a business name is questionable. Also for him to tell her that with my name he can tell her "all personal information, name, address, social security, employer, phone numbers, loans, collections, etc." She was getting pretty ticked off at this guy. It was obvious it was not a "nice legal" company. So I'm supposed to wait until it gets reversed back off and then close the account out before they can hit it again (as he assured her that they would). However, I'm scared to death to even open another account. You don't even know. I just want to keep it in the friggin cookie jar. I'm so sick about this. And, goudah, thank you for finding that information for me. And, I do have "bills" that are automatically deducted, however, it's just my car insurance. Everything else (like utilities) I do pay on line through their secure websites. Also, I have paid my water bill over the phone with my debit card. Could any of this have anything to do with people finding out account numbers? I'm so scared right now. I really feel like I have a stalker or something! What can I do to prevent this from happening again? Not have a checking account? Or are there alternatives? And, I'm sure they can hit a savings account, right? Not just a checking account? I'm sorry. I'm rambling. But my head's not straight right now.

Cannr - I am so glad the bank lady stood up for you. These companies need to be held accountable for their under handed actions. Just to know that they are blocked and cannot do this again hopefully makes you feel better. What creeps. It is so scary that just because someone has your banking information which is on your check they can hit your bank for money. It sounds like your bank took good care of you. I have been thinking about you all day. Hang in there.

Cannr, This really is a nightmare. So sorry that you had to go thru this . I am sure if we look hard enought we can probably come uo with at least 5 moe phone numbers for these jokers.I also agree that they can hit a checking account. The contracts usually say"any accounts you may have" I assume any means checking savings, any is any. I really feel like the comfort zone has been taken away.

Can you do without a bank account? It really sucks. You pretty much need to have one.

I would open a new account as suggested. Don't write any checks. Only use bill pay if it's through your bank. Those checks are sent out without any account information. I would not pay any bills with my checking account information either . . . . Pretty much, the less people that know that info, the safer you are.

goudah, so you suggest a new account; however, just use bill pay for my bills through the bank and not write checks if possible, right? How safe is using your debit card?

Ohh Cannr...I am so sorry to hear about this happening to you. Wish I could blast away at them this time
But here is a strange thought...something i have been doing. I still have a check account, but i deposit my check then have all but a few bucks sent to my paypal account where i have a debit card.
Then i just use my paypal like a regular bank card :)
It takes i think 60days to get debit card, but very well worth it for me.
Anyway just a thought. I will keep my fingers crossed and my word gun ready to blast :)
