Finally sent me an email after recieving my letters, i assume.

The problem is that they are asking for 300 which is the amount that i borrowed but i have already paid them 270. So I sent back that and told them that legally I am only supposed to pay 16.10 per hundred dollar, so with the fees I came up with 78.30, is that right?

I live in DC btw

Jay this is what you posted yesterday. how did 30 jump to 78

yea, they called me on wednesday and told me that they were getting ready to send me to collections i was like for what. i had sent in my letter before the loan was even due, i only owe them 30 bucks, they talking hundreds! but i sent the letter certified this morning with the proof that the letter was recieved, i want to see how this plays out now!

It is hard to go after a company. You think that it is useless but let me tell you..........it can pay off. I just got all my money back that I overpaid and my overdraft fees (9 of them). I got my bank involved and when I told them that the company was unlicensed and illegal, the bank went after them. Have you talked with your bank?

I told them that I checked with the FTC and the AG in my state and they are not legal, but I screwed up because I miscalculated and it turns out that I actually paid them 360 and not 270, so I dont owe them anything, I sent an email stating that since I was in error all I am asking for is a pif and not a refund, and I sent it 6 times, lets see what happens now!

Jay-continue to be persistant I would send emails several times aday. my cash now emails would never go through, so i kept logging onto their website and putting my information into their testimonial/comment section and after two days of doing this I received a call from them and of course, I was locked out of the website:) guess they didn't like the testimonial I was sending.

I had Mycashnow tell me that because they were an internet lender they go by federal laws not the state laws-has anyone ever heard that before???

TMBL - You have so much knowledge of all of this......is it just from personal experience or do you have a job that you deal with PDL's, state laws, etc.? It's so great that you are so willing to share all of your knowledge with everyone and so willing to help, it's awesome. I know, personally, I have really appreciated all of your input......along with everyone else's on this website. I'm so glad that I ran across it, I don't think it was an accident.......it was a Godsend : )

It is very comforting, once I found this site, and starting taking action, I felt much, much better! It's hard to believe that their are so many people out their that have made the same mistake I did and unfortunately the illegal pdl's prey on that and just keep sucking you in unitl you have nothing! I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found this place and I never would have thought I would be able to email these companies myself, get PIF letters and even a refund:) It was reading everyones advice etc that kept me going and that first PIF is what really gave me the encouragement to keep fighting!!!

So, you mentioned that you had 6 PDL's, what was your experience with the companies and who were they? Were they all internet companies? I'm just curious how it went for you as far as that first PIF. Did you have to give them more money or had you already paid them enough to get the PIF? Like you, I thought that I would just have to pay for my huge mistakes and continue paying them forever.

I had all internet loans through United cash loans-had already paid them the principle plus allowable interest amount by my state-PIF from them; The Loan shop overpaid them by $500 got PIF and they are sending $250 refund check in mail today; Paycheck today had paid principle plus some got PIF (they were my first);Cashnet USA wich is legal, I have payment arrangements set up with them, just have to agree on on to send payments to them; USA Payday-still working on, haven't paid anyhting on that and they are illegal; and MY cash now-trying to fiqure out payment plan with them I still owe them around $300. So it's a struggle trying to budget what I can pay back to them and I also want to be rid of them, but I need to budget so I don't get myself in any kind of financial mess again. How many loans do you have?
