I went to see The Golden Compass last Friday. I was and wasn't dissapointed. It was entertaining but it lacked something in the end. It needed more film time. I am sure they cut a lot out.
I am also interested in Cloverfield next year.

I saw the b&w DVD version of the film with Vincent Price a couple of years ago.. The novel, by Richard Matheson (often a writer on the TV series "The Twilight Zone"), was awarded several times in the 1950s. I would like to see this new version.

Movie Review: One of the best movies I've seen this year. Awesome story line, excellent acting, amazing CGI. I will definately be getting this one on DVD.
The story line (without giving any spoilers) is that a virus has infected well over half of the population into some type of mutant human-monster. One man is living in New York looking for survivors while also looking for a cure to the virus.
This is one good movie.

Thanks for the review. Yes, in the novel and the old Vincent Price version, everyone (except one man) was turned into vampire-like creatures.
