Im in a really bad financial state with my debt. At this point i dont even know where to begin. In the past i have been very careless and naive with my money and loans that i have had. I have debt that i dont even know what it is anymore. I really screwed up while i was younger starting with my student loan that i am in serious default on. Everything has gone into collection. Some of it being from 4 or more years ago. I closed my eyes on the situation and just acted like it would all go away. It hasnt, i get calls eveyday that i never answer. At one point i thought i could get some help by using one of those cash advance type places which just put me in a worse situation. I dont know what to do or where to start. I dont even know how i can pay this stuff off on top of all of my current bills and rent. It seems impossible. Im scarred of what could happen to me legally.
I would appreciate any advice and any help so much!

My suggestion would be to register for a free consultation, call the 1-800-601-1579 number or click on the right hand screen and talk to someone who will provide you with more detailed information on where to go for help. Don't be scared we have all been in your shoes at one time or another. Hang in there other's will be along shortly to help you.

Let's start with the cash advance, was it a pay day loan? Also what state do you live in? If it is a payday loan maybe you could give me information like how much the loan was for and what the fees/interest rates are. And where you got the loan from.

I'll try to help you as much as I can.

As to those debts from four years ago, check your state's statute of limitations regarding consumer debt. As to what they can do to you legally? All they can do is sue, if they deside to. And even then, each state I know of has a list of exemptions from judgment, and if you live in Texas or Florida, they can do next to nothing except to try and go after your bank account. Look up your state law regarding collections, law suits and judgments.

Thanks for the replies so far. As soon as i get some free time after this busy busy christams holiday in gonna call. I think my biggest problem is that i dont know what half of these debts i have are anymore. I have a couple from the those payday loan places you find online. I live in Florida. Any good websites to go and checkout the state laws in regards to these things. Also the Student Loan was in NY. Thanks All!
