I just received a phone call at work from a Sharon Jackson from some legal dept for bad checks (so she says) her number is 904-725-0052. She told me that EasyLoans is filing charges on me today at 10:15 am. I told her that no one is supposed to be calling me and she said she doesnt work for EasyLoans. I asked her to validate the debt and she responded by asking me if I signed paperwork with EasyLoans. She also asked me why didnt I contact EasyLoans with my new banking information? My brain wanted to say "because Im smarter than you think" but I ended up telling her that I didnt have any information to reach them. I kept asking her for proof of debt. She never said she would get it for me. She said that she was filing charges against me for some statue number she blabbed off so fast that I couldnt write it down. ARE THEY REALLY GOING TO FILE CHARGES AGAINST ME IN MY COUNTY?? WHAT SHOULD I DO??

Ok I just called that number you listed and i got some rude lady who answered the phone as division processing.. When she picked up the phone i stated i had the wrong number she went on to say someone had to call me from the number in order for me to have it i stated that i just had the wrong number then she hung up on me!! I dont think who ever this company is is the real deal! professional companies wouldnt be so rude as well as argue with you about having the wrong number!!! if i was you i wouldnt worry thats some type of collection agency!

I had a problem with phone calls at work, and I work in a bank so I can't be taking collection calls. I just was honest with the people I work with and said that I was having money issues and they all understood. They just say now "oh she dosn't work here anymore." That way I can deal with these people when I have time or a solution.

I have two payday loans that I am paying back in monthly payments (whether they agree to it or not). I recently closed the bank account that they have on file to avoid further withdrawls and charges from these two companies. I opened an account with a completely different bank, and recently someone told me that the payday loan companies have a way of finding out what my new bank is & they can actually start debiting my new account. This sounds crazy to me, but does anyone know if this is true or not?

It does happen, but very very seldomly. Usually new accounts get hit, if the person(stupidly) applies for another loan using their new info. These companies have so many different names and affiliates that once one gets the new info, all of them can get it. Just be careful, check your account and never apply for another loan, and you should be ok.

They should not be able to track down your acct in a different bank, but if they every did you would be able to after them because you did not authorize access to the new acct. I closed all accts with my name on them, and my husband is just taking care of everything thru his own acct.

Amy J it sounds crazy to me also.. and I am sure one of the members who are well versed on this subject will answer shortly

I just wanted to weigh in on the subject of these people who call you at work

there are currently at least 4 different companies calling my place of employment looking for an employee who moved out of state 9 months ago

they are now stating their name and why they are calling

they are really getting ruthless at this point because this is their last point of contact that hasn't been disconnected ..and violating all sorts of laws... I am certain

and they think they can be rude with me because they can't intimidate person they are trying to reach and embarrass them

they act like I am lying saying the person moved out of state and when I tell them I don't think they should be telling me they are calling to collect a debt they don't like that either

anyways I just hope no one out there ever feels embarrassed when these companies stoop to these tactics..that is their intent..to shame you at work..

do not let them invade your work life and please do not be embarrassed if they cross that line!

Guest, actually in most cases you DO authorize them to debit the new account. Most of these PDLs have a clause in it that you dont even realize you are signing. It states that yiu authorize thenm to debit ANY account you have or will have in the future. That is the reason we revoke their autorization to debit by ach. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not work.

Quote:

I was reading in the banking forum on this site that the company that prints checks ( Chex) does give new bank information to payday loan people. I am paraphrasing here but that was the jist of the comments

I know which thread you are referring to..and its actually Deluxe/Harland that prints checks, not Chexsystems. They do not give your new account info to payday lenders....the thread said that when you order checks from certain printers, they may ping Chexsystems indicating you have an account with "xyz" bank.....which is someting that pdl's have been known to look for, which bank you have a new account at...writing checks at the grocery store, etc can also have the same affect.
