Please help me is onestepcash a legal payday company! :?

A search of the DLEG Deferred Presentment Licensee Database (payday lenders in Michigan are called Deferred Presentment providers) turns up 0 results on both "onestepcash" and "one step cash".

However, you should make sure that this company is not operating under any other names or DBA's ("doing business as" names) before assuming they are not licensed in Michigan.

Northern Financial is also not listed on the DLEG licensee database.

I would ask this company for it's license number to do business in Michigan. If they are operating legally, they will not be hesitant to give it to you.

On the other hand, if you ask for their license number and they refuse to give it or start making threats of arrest, jail time, etc...there's your answer as to whether they are operating legally in Michigan or not.

Guest, you need to close that bank account and open a new one. Either that, or go to your bank, explain the situation to the branch manager, and ask them to tell you the best way to stop this company from debiting your account.

Illegal payday lenders are notorious for sending a fake paper check through your account when you block their ACH access, so putting a stop payment on them doesn't always work.
