I have just decided I am done messing with collectors who are collecting for other collectors. There is no law that says you must deal with a collector if they are in fact collecting on behalf of someone else...and honestly I think it makes no sense...though wow when you tell this to said collector..they go crazy!

CA: 'Oh no, you -must- handle this with us, it is in our office now.'

ME: Ok..well, do you own the account or does CA1 own it?

CA: Well, CA1 owns it, but it is being serviced by us.

ME: Ok, then I am just going to talk to them, I see no reason to talk to you.

CA: But you -have- to! It is in our office now!

ME: Yeah well I don't recall seeing it in one of Moses' stones that Thou shall deal with collection agency.

That is the convo almost word for word...I got called a blasphemer  :)

But seriously, why would anyone deal with them and not the CA who 'owns' said account? They can't report it (then that would be double reporting) They can't do anything without the ok of the other CA..so why even bother with these jerks??

Right! I thought about that when I was being hassled by one collector who is collecting for NCO, these idiots wanted me to send a signed statement with a bunch of info and he got downright hostile when I said no law anywhere required me to do that.

Then another wants me to go file a police report...and I asked why would I do that and they said to report your identity theft, I responded there may be no identity theft, just complete incompetence on the side of them :)
