CA: 'Oh no, you -must- handle this with us, it is in our office now.'
ME: Ok..well, do you own the account or does CA1 own it?
CA: Well, CA1 owns it, but it is being serviced by us.
ME: Ok, then I am just going to talk to them, I see no reason to talk to you.
CA: But you -have- to! It is in our office now!
ME: Yeah well I don't recall seeing it in one of Moses' stones that Thou shall deal with collection agency.
That is the convo almost word for word...I got called a blasphemer :cry: :)
But seriously, why would anyone deal with them and not the CA who 'owns' said account? They can't report it (then that would be double reporting) They can't do anything without the ok of the other CA..so why even bother with these jerks??

Right! I thought about that when I was being hassled by one collector who is collecting for NCO, these idiots wanted me to send a signed statement with a bunch of info and he got downright hostile when I said no law anywhere required me to do that.
Then another wants me to go file a police report...and I asked why would I do that and they said to report your identity theft, I responded there may be no identity theft, just complete incompetence on the side of them :)

Yeah..I got that feeling from the snooty lady. I told her plainly I was not going to go file a report until I was sure it was ID theft, which I would know once I got the validating documents....she just sputtered from there and hung up pretty quick.
