I was hoping for a bit of advice on dealing with these people.
I just got a settlement notice for MCM on a Providian card i didn't recognize.I then sent a certified registered DV letter and disputed them on my credit report.
Turns out the original creditor has the wrong by one digit social and my Fathers(im a junior)address.Of course when i call now they wont talk to me but send me to MCM.
They also just sent me another settlement offer dated 8 days after they received my dv

If you're absolutely certain it's not yours, send them a complete cease-and-desist letter, CMRRR. In that, tell them that they have the wrong person.

It may not [likely won't] stop them from hassling you. But if you document everything carefully, you'll have a nice little fdcpa case in a little while.

Im pulling my bank records from 2000-2005 to see if there is any record of payments to them.I just wanna know if i owe it or not
