i received a coll. letter from one of the favs, NCO for an ATT debt i am checking on to see if its even valid/or mine. its pretty old if so but just don't remember it.

one, should i go ahead and send off a dv letter just in case BUT stating that the dv letter in no way validates the debt is mine? or how should i put it to protect myself?

also, can they charge interest (quoted 6%) on a debt that does not have judgment? no they have not threatened that yet. is that against the law to charge interest at this point? the original debt they quote is only 88.67. i am in Texas.

thanks all

Did you happen to note my signature line?

Seriously, the DV letter at the link posted above is OK, but not spectacular. It does not admit to owing anybody anything. It'd maybe a bit too mellow for my tastes, but I'm not an especially mellow kind of Wulf... Look around for a post by Cajunbulldog or JCEMT. Both of those fellows have good DV letters linkd in their signatures.
