My debt has not been turned over to a CA yet. I am receiving at least 5 calls a day from my credit card co. I have caller ID and some of the calls from my creditor do not show an ID for that company. Isn't it a law that credit card companies have to show who they are on caller ID?

by definition yes,but i can tell you from working with chase.the number on the caller id was not the number they gave me to call about paying the bill.some companies are different, that is just chase and how they do things.

Currently I am not answering the phone when a strange number appears on my caller ID. The company may call up to 6 times a day. If I answered one call, could they still call me again that day or is it true that they can only call me 2X's a week?

if it is the oc,there really is no restriction.as with chase they called me 3 times a day until i could get current.a ca must obey a request not to call, especially a c&d letter.

If its a collection agency, they can call between the hours of 8am-9pm, 7days a week. However, if they make a contact with you on any day, they may not call you back on that same day. They are allowed one contact per day.

And paul is correct, an original creditor really had no restrictions.

If you are unsure of who is calling, Google the ph# that is coming up on the caller id.
