I received a letter from a collection recovery agency stating that my account may go to arbitration unless I contact them. The letter stated that the original collection agency The Bureaus has made every attempt to contact me which is news to me because I never even heard of this company. They have never sent me any correspondence nor have I received any phone calls from them. Should I send a letter to this affect to the company now contacting me? Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks!

I haven't sent a DV letter as this is the first thing I'm receiving even mentioning The Bureaus. I know I've been totally stupid in how I've handled the whole situation but I am in a place now where I feel I have my head together to deal with this stuff and feel totally lost. MBNA is the original creditor but like I said I've never received a letter or anything from the collection agency this place claims to represent.

I'll send the DV as a first step.
