Hello,

How should I handle My Cash Now/CPD. I took at a payday loan from my cash now on 11/26/07 for $520. On December 26 I closed my bank account and revoked My Cash Now's ACH authorization. I than started my payments on the account to CPD via money gram. I stopped making payments after my payment on Feb 22. To date I have paid them $668.41. They called me last week asking for $500+. I explained they were unliscensed and illegal and I had paid them more than they legally were owed. I ask in what state they were located and licensed. They said for security reasons they could not tell me that.

They called me at work today. I have read on here they contact references, I don't want that to happen. How can I deal with them without paying more ?

Thanks for your help

Micksprint

micksprint. . .I also have a loan out with MyCashNow and PayDayMax. I received one phone call from them after I closed my account. It came from CPD as well. They also called one of my references, once. I immediately faxed a copy of C and D letter to them and I haven't heard from them since. Have you sent any letters actually revoking your ACH's and asking that they not call your work, or references? Have you filed any complaints on them with the AG's office, the BBB, the Banking Department or the FTC? I am not sure what the laws are regarding pay day loans in PA but I am sure that someone will be along shortly to help you with that.

micksprint. . .they called me on March 4th and I faxed the letter on March 5th. That was the first and last time I heard from them. I have been blocked from using their website and they were refusing my emails, but of late they are not being returned. I just keep on sending my C and D letter to their email address. Hopefully they will get sick and tired of hearing from me and that will be the end of it. Keep us posted on your progress.

I took out a loan with them also. You also should ask to talk to a manager about your account, so they can adjust your payment. Give them your receive code. Tell them you need a close out letter for your reference and tell them to lock out all your phone numbers. In certain states they are not allowed to call you if you have requested lock outs. If they continue state your rights as a client and tell them you will enforce your rights if they do not stop the collection calls. Also write a letter saying you want all numbers locked out along with a close out letter for your protection. Ask all this information from a manager. See if she/he has an employment id number for your reference also. These people will do anything. Pay day loans are the worst. They seem the best when you need them, but they are the worst. :x
