PDL Assistance Complaints:
Good Afternoon~

Has anyone heard of and/or used the company PDL Assistance, Inc? They also go by PDL Eliminator. They are a PDL consolidation company who do the battleing for you but at a cost (of course). If you have, please let me know how they worked for you as I'm supposed to start on their program on the 31st.

Thank you~

I have also considered hiring PDL, however I am more interested in handling myself. I live in Tennessee and I have 4 payday loans.
Advance Financial $230
Check into Cash $230
Advance America $330
Cash City $230
When speaking with the CS at PDL she advised to contact my bank and tell them that I had lost or check were stolen and that would prevent them (4 Check cashing places) from cashing my check. Pay them the $200.00 enrollment fee and my monthly bill would be $158 a month for 8 months. I considered that, however, could that create legal problems due to the fact that I wrote check to them and then reported check being lost or stolen? I dont want to get into legal issues due to worthless checks. Can someone please explain.

If there would be no legal actions, would this be something that I could do myself? I would think because if checks are stopped and I pay a portion per month to each payday loan I could pretty much settle this myself. Right. Hell harrassing calls I can handle. I don't want to pay someone just to handle phone calls. If someone could assist it would be greatly appreciated.

I work for a pdl company... As a manager, PDL associates DOES NOT work with me on this debt. They refuse to tell me ANYTHING. All I ask for is $25.00 every two weeks, no extra fees. Deal with the store manager directly, you will have better results. Plus, you won't ruin your credit with the pdl place (in the event you EVER need to reborrow), but if you use PDL ASSOCIATES YOU WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO REBORROW AGAIN.

Gee a pay day loan company bashing a settlement company . What a surprise. Dealing with the pay day loan store manager typically will get you no results. Their solution is typically either " sorry can`t help you , should not have gotten the loan if you can`t afford to repay it " or " hey just renew the loan ". The debt settlement process does work . Pay Day Loan places hate it when people take control of their finances and either settle on their own or hire a company like Langhorne debt solutions or PDL Assistance.

Hi Azprincess21,
I'm pretty sure you can handle this on your own...you are correct, you will be paying the co their fee's upfront to handle the phone calls and from what I was told, they really don't do that either, they tell you to have the pdl's call them, but they will not call the pdl's directly, so you will still get the harassing calls anyway.

Has anyone asked you to list the company, how much you borrowd and how much you have paid so far? I am thinking you live in AZ, if that's the case I can find & post the laws for you...

i am a store manager. i will do 25.00 every two weeks on a payday loan. i wont call and harrass you. you set up that arrangement, i will never call you. i have customers paying me that and i never even had to call them since their reminder call! i even do settlement payments! 50%, 75% and just pay the principal settlements. i work for advance america. im not bashing pdl, but let me tell you when i DO call pdl to find out anything on the customer that did pdl because its been MONTHS since the customer notified me of pdl they say to me, "Sorry this customer is under a privacy policy and I cannot tell you anything. Have a great day." and hang up. how does pdl help me? they are awful to deal with. they make my job a thousand times harder. how do i even know if the customer is even paying them anymore? how do i even know if the customer is really using them? i dont. and i may never know. i am possibly the EASIEST person to pay on the planet. i have one customer paying me ten dollars a week and ive never even had to do ONE collection call on her. ever. and guess what? she's not paying me an extra 200 dollars upfront.

i dont get why you and others think we are so bad, but as long as ive been with advance america, i have loved it. our motto is "because we're here for you" and we stick through to that no matter what. and my other customer ask me on how to deal with the other companies. and i help them deal with them for free.

ive also been in your guys shoes where i had more than several loans out and didnt know what to do. you know what? i called the store fronts and set myself up on EPPs. those were all CFSA certified. the one that wasn't, the manager still worked out a payment arrangement with me because i explained my situation.

im not bashing pdl at all. but i think there is a better and easier and cheaper way if you guys just call the store manager. if they refuse to make a payment arrangement, then tell them you can assume the debt is paid in full since they refuse payments. thats fully legal to do too, you know.

I used to work there... realized after nine months that they don't get things taken care of very fast... if at all... do it yourself with the help of people here and save yourself a lot of headaches. I quit and I'm selling insurance... may not be a great step up, but at least I can sleep at night.

I have several loans out and cannot continue to pay the interest so I would like to make arrangements to pay them monthly or bi weekly on my own. These are all store fronts, if I contact them can they refuse and do I need to close my checking account as these are checks that I have given them?

there not a scam but my husband and i signed up with them a year ago we paid them a 180 a month on 5 pay day loans a year has gone by and not one of the pay day loans have been paid off, my husbands wages just started getting garneshed from one of the pay day loan places, and we started taking care of a nother place on our own because pdl does not do what they are suppost to my addvice is to contact to pay day loan places and set up reasonable payments and more than likely theyll exept otherwise the only thing your going to be paying off is the pdl emloyees childrens shoes. HONESTLY DONT USE THEM THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am curious about your husbands wages being garnished? Wage Garnishment is a court ordered process where a judge places a judgment against you, did you go to court? Wage Assigment is voluntary and all you have to do is revoke it by sending your husbands payroll department a Wage Assignment Revocation letter. It can be as simple as I revoke any and all Wage Assignments. Simple and to the point.

I used this company and i paid them their 150 fee. they paid off 1 creditor and the others either were rip offs and went out of business or just considered my loans paid in full. they took more than they should from my monthly payments. they were cool at first but then i read the BBB reports, rip off.com and other reports and thought about what i may have done. as soon as i signed up with them, i started getting collection calls from peopel i didnt even owe money too and was getting threats from these companies as well, they are good people and are ok at first but just be careful!

ALL payday loans are prohibited in NY.
??
All of those loans are illegal.
??
If you go here and read the steps you need to take when dealing with illegal lenders.
??
You only owe them the amount you borrowed and any fees or rollover charges go towards that amount.
??
The best thing you can do at this point is to close your bank account.
??
You can do this yourself and we can guide you through the process.

ok, the loans are going to come out again this friday and I have direct deposit. Should I close it today? I will open a new account and set up direct deposit with the new account. Can I get on that today?
What is my next step after I close them?

I would close it ASAP. Who is the bank?
??
Contact payroll and see if they can cut you a live check until you get the new account set up. Explain to them you are a victim of fraud and need the set up to change ASAP!
??
Make sure that if you set up a new account at the same bank that it is shut down and no ACH will open it. Also confirm that anything hitting the old account will not be connected to the new account.

Yes.
??
You need to send them a letter that states they are illegal. You can find the template here. Scroll down to the 13th post to find it.
??
You need to change it to your information, loan information and state laws.
??
You can find the NY law here.
??
For each one you need to make it clear that you only legally owe the amount you borrowed and list the amount you have already paid.
??
In the case of overpayment you can demand a refund. You won't get it in most cases but you may get a PIF.
??
You can email, fax or send certified USPS with return receipt. If you fax do not do it from work as they may turn that around and send collection notices to it.

I just got two emails that looked remarkably like those sent by pdl's soliciting business. When opened, they were for a pdl settlement company. The email address was a bit different, (charliespaydayhelp) and (emergencyfor payday). I think this is correct, or something similar. When opened and read, it said such and such doing business as Dennis Williams, address is Langhorne PA. Is this an offshoot from Langhorne Debt Solutions, or is he branching out in to someting else?

I have 5 pay day loans from different lenders and I am only getting to see about 400 dollars per month by the time I pay the fees and such. I noticed as somebody else mentioned that all of the pay day lenders have identical sites almost, but their phone numbers and addresses are different. I signed up with pdl eliminators and I am hoping they help. TIP: change your bank account number. If you put stop payments on them like they say to you may end up spending a lot. For me to do it with all 5 lenders would have been about 200$ so my bank suggested that I change my account numbers all together and only give them to the consolidators.

Well I called last week to PDL elminators and they explained everything to me really, good, and yes all consolidation places take out your fee, but they do the work for you as well, i am new to PDL, and I say it is better to have some one deal with the pay day loan people then me because it can be very stressful.

I also have been using PDL assistance. I have not had any issues with them so far and they also provide the history of your payments online that you can look up yourself.

Langhorne is a rip off.

I used this company and have paid 9 payments of $155 each. They have settled only one payday loan (I had 5) for $150.00 and the rest of the money went on fees. There is over $500 unaccounted for and I can't get the company to respond to me about this - emails are ignored and I get hung up on when I call.

Which company? The title of the thread is about PDL Assistance, then someone started talking about do-it-yourself settlement, then the discussion moved to Langhorne. I'm curious because what you're describing doesn't sound like either one of those companies' programs.

Langhorne doesn't hold people's money. You have to set up your own savings account that you control for paying settlements. PDL Assistance has you set up an account at Rocky Mountain Bank (at least it used to be RMB), but I think this is just a convenience they offer, not a requirement. That bank charges a lot of its own fees on top of PDL's fees, but $500 missing sounds very, very excessive.

I am also now signing up with PDL Assistance, Inc. Was that the company that was hanging up on you and wouldn't answer your emails? I just want the PDLs not to call me at work. I live in TX. I owe 11 pdls mostly 300 loans but i don't want the phone on my desk to keep ringing. I gave them all my direct phone number to work. Geez.

I am scheduled to have 2 more of my accounts paid this Fri. thru PDL Assistance. This will make a total of 4 out of 10 pdl's paid off. In addition, the remaining 6 have been negotiated and are scheduled to be paid June 30, the end of this month.

For me, PDL Assistance has been a lifesaver. NOTE: The original lender CAN still call you (I still get calls from Ameriloan, even though this account has been negotiated and is scheduled to be paid this month) but collection agencies have NOT been calling me once I sent the cease & desist letter, per PDL Assistance's instructions.

It has taken a year, but in the meantime I have NOT been getting the harassing calls I would have gotten otherwise. It is true you can do this yourself and it probably would have taken about the same length of time. You could save $$ on fees - UNLESS you don't negotiate as low a settlement as PDL Assistance would. And unless you have nerves of steel, you'd probably end up settling for a higher amount to pay off your loan to stop the calls. And some of the illegal internet payday loan co.'s would still profit because they'd still get paid over and above the principal amount of the loan.

I also found it unnerving not knowing what scare tactics are real and what are bogus, or just bluffing, when I got initial calls from collection agencies.
