I am dealing with Javitch Collections. My son used my car and was involved in a car accident and he was not insured. The bill for the repair of the other car was 3000.I have offered to pay in full the amount. My mum passed and I could not make that payment. I paid 800.00 and called them to ask for more time to make other arrangements. I offered to pay the amount in 2 settlements, but they refused and said they were going to sue.

I am so frustrated with these people as they are so arrogant and will not work with me. What can I do? The last day they gave me is today and then they will sue.

How do I go about this one. Please help!!!!!! SOS. :x

Have you received the debt validation letter from them? If not, ask for that first.

Call them up and let them know that you are willing to work it out with them. However, also tell them up-front that you can only work if they agree to your terms.

Most often the CAs behave aggressively just to frighten and squeeze the money out of you. But believe me they are more than willing to get the money back.

Just be calm and firm. Other members will shortly be around with more helps.

Thank you for this information. I had received a letter with a higher amount and when I asked for verification, I got another letter with a different amount. This letter with a different amount is a quotation from Nationwide insurance. Am I not supposed to get a letter of verification for repairs that were made and paid for?

Send them a DV letter asking the following

  • Amount of the money that they said you owe to them
  • Identification of the original creditor
  • Your payment history so far
  • Their license to operate in your state

You can also consult the format of the standard DV letter given in the following url...

Yes you are...do obtain the statement of the costs associated with the repair work. The statement should detail the expenses made on replacing the damaged body parts, labor costs and so forth.
