I had an issue with LVNV recently. I sent them a DV letter about it. I referenced the matter like this:
RE: Citibank account #xxxxxxxxxx, or any other business you may have with me.
My aim was to make certain that I had all the bases covered, in case I had the wrong account number. It's been a while now. Dead silence.
You may want to return the call, just to confirm the account number, OC, and the like. Do not give them any information about yourself, and do not admit to anything. Above all, do not let yourself be bullied. If they bluster and threaten, simply hang up. Then send them a DV referencing 'any business you may have".
If it's legal in your state, I would suggest recording the call. Document their tactics, because they are famous for breaking the law.
