Allegro Law Firm reviews: Has anyone heard of them or worked with Allegro Law Firm. I have not seen anything on them and I am being pressed to make a decision. Just can't make up my mind if I should do debt settlement, or credit counseling. 4 of my cards have gone to collections and one, the largest is still willing to lower my interest or I could do Credit counseling. I am torn and don't know which is the best way to go. So much negative stuff on here about debt settlement that it has me scared to go that route.

Can anyone tell me where to get a hold of Allegro Law, I have been sending them money for one year - to pay for one of my debts I consolidated with them, and their web site is not working, and I have been on eternal holds on the phone - nobody is ever coming - help - I am freaking out!!! What rock have you been under? You found this website, start reading it thoroughly from say.....July 1 & catch up. They are OUT of business. There is a receiver in place appointed by the Alabama Attorney General. They are still making payments for folks & working with creditors. But, it will take years to sort all this out.

I worked for Anderson Nelms for a brief minute. Another ligit business off to the side. All of us have been screwed. We never received our last pay checks. That was in July. You at least have SOME hope of still doing what you set out to do.

Unfortunately, this is par for the course for most debt settlement companies. They do not want to review all your possible options and their ramifications, they simply shoehorn you into the most profitable solution for them.

This company is being sued by the Attorney General of Alabama, thanks to properly filed complaints by people like you. "http://allegrolawreceivership.com/"

It all went to their fees. They charge around 15% of your total debt you put into their program and they make you pay most (if not all) of that up front. There is an outcry to force these companies to not be able to charge you anything at all until *after* they have actually performed their services, but it requires people like you to raise the rallying cry.

Unfortunately, the cost comes at your destroyed credit and that is why these people need to be regulated *now*, so they do not ruin even more lives.

i was pushed to sign up
That's because they are staffed with professional salespeople who get commissions and so are only interested in selling you the package that puts the most money in their pockets, regardless of your actual need.

I got a hold of Customer Service - they are still taking our money and payments will be happening on behalf of Allegro Law when you have reached twice the amount owed to any credit card - that was the lingo I listened to. Sent letter of cancellation and demand refund - also sent certified letter to the appointed court receiver....Allegro has done nothing - they reflect escrow amounts for one third of what people send - they pocket it all and now - this will never happen - due to the scam mode of them doing "business" - I thin we all have lost whatever monies we have sent to them.....uggrrr....I want to make a trip to kill someone!

Actually Allegro Law made you pay ALL of the upfront fess before they did anything for you. And most are not really staffed with Pros. Sometimes they are just kids looking for a job, convicts, crooks or just your average joe. Just look in your classifieds. You'll see. You do not need any experience to be a sales rep at the DS companies. All ads say that they will train you on the job.

I have work in the criminal field from time to time and I guy I know (who is a convict) works for one of these DS companies in NJ. I know him well and I know he wants to be legit after 20 years of being a criminal. He even gave me his card when I saw him on the street one day. I just laughed in my head. I'm gald he has a job and he is trying to do the right thing but...........if it works for him though so be it.

My friend who I work with now was one as well when he was in college with me. And trust me........he had no experience. The stories he tells me (though really wrong) will entertain you. All he cared about was getting his commissions and making ends meat. He knows he was wrong.

And last. I never said this before (Don't hate me) but my brother does this for a living in GA. We don't speak because of it. He will con you out of your shirt if he could. Even family if you let him. He does not care. The crazy thing is that he thinks that he does nothing wrong and it's all fair game. He only sees the all mighty dollar. Oh an make no mistake he is a criminal. Deceiving people is wrong.

Tom,
Sell, sell, sell! Get that conversion rate!

Absolutely. While it may be common amongst certain animals to deceive, it is beneath a supposedly rational human. Especially in a business sense, because there has to be an element of trust in order for the business relationship to work properly, and how much more so for a business that requires time and a relatively long term relationship for it to be able to properly dispense the services it offers.

As far as:Quote:
What is going on with this company alegro law firm
As stated above, they are in receivership. Go to the website mentioned and ask them. Requests are going to take longer than normal, because the receiver will comb through their books with a fine toothed comb. And I am sure that they will announce the same results discovered for every other debt settlement firm ever closely investigated: only less than 5% actually make it through the program and succeed - and most of those have very small (less than $20K) amount of debt. Those companies that take customers/clients with $10K or less will see a higher success rate, naturally.

Not that Louis Colley doesn't pick up the phone, but when his secretary picks up, you leave a message for him and she assures you that he will call you back because he is ALWAYS in "COURT" not in the office. Guess what, you don't get a call back form him or anyone from his office!!

I made a great error in judgement when I signed up with Allegro Law. I have had nothing but trouble from day 1 and every time I try to contact them via phone I get put on hold for 30 minutes or more. They have royally messed up my checking account to point of having to close it and finally cancel my account with Allegro. Now my husband is having the same problems, not taking money out of account when they are supposed to and getting put on hold forever when trying to contact to resolve the matter. I DO NOT recommend anyone using Allegro Law

IF you figure out how to engage in a legal way - to recover some of themoney you have send them - let me know - I sent money for a year and I have now cancelled - officially - sent a letter to Allegro and this Louis Colley guy - my debt is aging as we speak and now it will never be paid - as it wasn't anyway....I will have to let the dust settle and tackle my credit card company directly and start from scratch, as we all should.... anyway - my email is: romero_ali@yahoo.com. If you can take them to court - to try to get some your money back - I am in.....

that website is for the receivership assigned by a high court that is taking Allegro Law - the guy does not answer the phone - nor will anything be told to you as to the monies taken by ALlegro - Allegro is broke, onhold by a high court....there is no contacting them. I actually did get a hold of Allegro Law - after many days of holding for hours at a time - they told me to "keep sending money" for 72 months - after doing the math - Allegro was asking for more than twice what I owed the credit card - and the initial lure for signing with them was that they could negotiate for you for half of what was owed or less...not tru - I have sent more than hal and they declared I had in escro one third of what I sent - this is a big scam....make the word be known......DO NOT SEND ANY MORE MONEY, EVERYONE.....they will take it and nothing will ever happen. They said the "receiver" - will review the cases and these will be negotiated....good luck with that.....

I filed complaints against Allegro Law with Attorney General in Alabama, Wisconsin (because I live in WI), and NY. Never did hear back from AG in NY! What's with this? Who can anyone really trust? Is the receiver, Louis Colley to be trusted? I have emailed him, faxed him, and mailed to him with certain non-general questions, providing relative documentation, and have never gotton a reply from him. I'm really starting to wonder.........

Can,t get the send message button to work to email a refund claim against the "wonderful" Allegro Law, even after numerous attempts. Do you have a non toll free no. To call Louis Colley's office, so I can talk to his secretary? Would like to request a paper form to file claim.

I don't think much of Louis Colley. The receivership website posts address and fax # for the guy and he wants you to send relative info to him but he does not respond to you. I'm sure he is busy with the "Allegro Disaster" but apparently not busy enough! He's had quite some time to but doesn't seem to accomplish much. Why is he willing to continue handling debt management clients but doubtful of continuing debt settlement clients? He's had more than enough time to set up a claims process but has yet to do so. The dirty fu.....of Allegro should have to forfeit ALL of their personal assets, not just company assets, to help repay the clients they stole money from! And these are attorneys?! Wow! How anyone can ruin a persons life after us economy went south is beyond me. The devil truly walks the face of the earth. No more fellow americans for me! Rot in hell mf.

My credit scores were all above 700 until I was bullied into their program. I got out after the initial payment was taken, you know, the attorney's fee. That was two months ago and I'm still getting letters from my credit cards accepting their offer. Now my scores have dropped. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!! It cost me over $500 to learn that lesson.

I landed my credit from 730 - without even a payment late - and they have just taken the money for a year and now they are nowhere to be found. can someone initiate a law suit on these parasites? - I am on - my email romero_ali@yahoo.com

I was fooled by both: Hess Kennedy and Allegro Law. They are both under receiverships now trying to settle matters with the court. I used Hess Kennedy before and got stuck-up with them until now. My proof of claim has been received and been approved and they are scheduled to give money back to the claimants like me on Dec. 31, 2009...hopefully nothing will go wrong again. While doing this Proof of claim filing last March 2009, I tried Allegro Law. It was good then for 4 months until I receive a letter from a lawyer that I have to pay my debt in 30 days through them thinking that I am covered by Allegro Law. I was in panic and called Allegro right away. Got hold of them and they said things are being taken cared of and they will contact the credit card company, blah blah blah. It was a relief! In 2 weeks or so, I received a subpoena stating that the credit card co. is suing me for the debt I owe them. I had 30 days to respond. I was again in panic and called Allegro the second time. I got hold of them and the representative told me that Allegro Law is now under receivership and I have to wait for 2 weeks or more to see if my account will be taken cared of or not...well, I was hysterical, of course! I hung up the phone and called a local lawyer to take my case. I did not continue my payment to Allegro Law. I just told myself to forget about them and move on and do this settlement on my own with the help of a lawyer who's always there to communicate and understand you. That's what I did and my lawyer got a settlement with the credit card company although the amount is "as is" but then I am sure that my money is going straight to the creditor. I am making a monthly payment to my lawyer now who sends the payment directly to the lawyer who represents the creditor. I don't care how long I will wait but at least I am sure that my money is being sent at the right time, to the right person. So, don't be fooled...please learn this lesson from me. Good luck!

I went with Allegro Law and paid out over 2500.00 to them which they took out of my account every month. I am getting calls from the creditors they should have been paying. Now i am in a bind because these creditors want the balance in full. What should I do at this point? I stopped all payments to the law firm but the creditors don't want payments. I feel I was scammed and now I am out 2500.00 and in worst debt then when it all started.

I currently have an account with allgro law firm and I'm getting fed up with their customer service. You can't ever get anyone on the line I'm put on hold up to two hours. I was informed I will be paying allegro 6,000.00 befor they negotiate any of my debits. I've been with the company for 1yr and I only have 850.00 in my escro account. I pay 350.00 each month for the past twelve months I pushed 4 payments back so far due to family emergencies. I'm on a plan for 3-4 yrs. I'm not to happy with the company anymore.

Allegro Law Claims

STATEMENT OF RECEIVER

Allegro Law, LLC has been placed in Receivership by the Circuit Court of Autauga County, Alabama as a result of an action filed by the Attorney General of the State of Alabama along with the Alabama Securities Commission. Louis C. Colley has been appointed receiver of Allegro's funds and ongoing business under the supervision of the Circuit Court. All records are currently being reviewed in order that each client may be protected to the fullest extent. It is anticipated that a debt management plan will be continued for the benefit of the client according to the agreements already in place. Debt settlement plans are currently being evaluated to see if proposals have been accepted by creditors and to determine if a settlement can be reached on behalf of the client. A claims process will be established for refunds of any funds available and not used on behalf of a client. This website will be continually updated to provide further information and eventually the claims procedure will be posted on this site. I understand your concern and assure you we will work through this process as quickly as possible for the benefit of all clients.

I am in the process of cancelling with them. I didn't realize that they take 90% of the payment for their services and only 10% gets credited to your account for your credit card. so out of over $5000, my escrow account for credit card payment is a little of $500 after a year.

Allegro started pulling my payments in Sept. I have tried to call them ever since and have NEVER gotten someone on the phone. I call and sit on hold until the disconnect me. My Verizon minutes have been "over" for the last 3 months. What the heck do I do!??? I tried emailing them that I needed to talk to someone and then 2 weeks later I got a random letter saying that they understand that I wish to terminate and they would no longer pull my payments. What!? So now I have even more questions....How do I get ahold of someone to gt me back in, or more importantly where is the money of mine that they already took out!??

This is bizzarre to me. I sent the Allegro receiver an email recently to inform him that (partly due to Allegro) I will soon be filing bankruptcy and to please cease any attempts at debt settlement on my behalf. According to his latest post, he can't start the claims process until some decision from the courts is made, or something on that order. Anyway, he forwarded my email to the Allegro office in New York (if its really there) and I actually got a response!!! Nothing but a bunch of what Allegro does best..BS. Gave them a piece of my mind at: dscs@allegrolawfirm.com. If this isn't the address you've tried, try this one. Good luck!
