May 2, 2010
On Friday April 30, 2010, the Court authorized the Trustee’s office to hire a claims agent to act on behalf of Allegro Law, LLC as it relates to the mailing of the Notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case and eventually the Proof of Claim forms. This claims agent will be responsible for assembling the client list from the third party processor utilized by Allegro Law, LLC and mailing and processing of various documents to customer/clients.
As mentioned earlier, for customer/clients mailing payments to Allegro Law, LLC, the Trustee’s office requests that these payments not be mailed to Allegro Law, LLC. For those customer/clients that made payments via ACH debit, the company responsible for this activity ceased the debits on April 5, 2010. There should not be any future ACH debits from any customer/client accounts on behalf of Allegro Law, LLC. For those customer/clients that made payments to Allegro Law, LLC via wire transfer, the Trustee’s office instructed a third party processor on April 8, 2010, to disable the feature that allowed wire transfers to Allegro Law LLC at Western Union and MoneyGram.
April 24, 2010
Efforts are under way to obtain a list of all Allegro Law, LLC customer/clients along with address information. Using this name and address information, a Notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case will then be provided to all Allegro Law, LLC customer/clients. This notice will provide additional information about the Bankruptcy filing along with instructions for claimants and operative dates related to this case.
Following the above mailing of the Notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case to customer/clients, Proof of Claim forms and information will be provided by mail.
April 21, 2010
All Allegro Law, LLC customer/clients should cease sending payments to Allegro Law, LLC by mail. In keeping with the Chapter 7 cessation of business directive, the Trustee’s office terminated all automated clearing house debits to customer/client accounts effective April 5, 2010.
The Trustee’s office has now moved the Court to allow the return of mailed payments received by Allegro Law, LLC postmarked after the March 12, 2010, Bankruptcy filing. The hearing on this motion is currently scheduled for May 25, 2010, at 10:00 am in Courtroom 4D, One Church Street, Montgomery, Alabama. Should this motion be approved by the Court, the actual payments (check, money order, etc.) received by Allegro Law, LLC will be returned to the senders.
For customer/clients who made payments to Allegro Law, LLC by automated clearing house debits, the return of these payments will be the subject of a motion filing in the near future. The Trustee’s office is in the process of obtaining accounting data from a third party servicer to facilitate the return of these payments.

got out early enough it looks
i was with allegro at the end of 2008 until beginning of 09 they got nearly 4K from me but i cancelled out because they werent doing anything kept telling me i needed to give them more information and everytime i gave them more they didnt do anything and creditors came after me and allegro ended up saying that they couldnt do anything. This was all after the informed me they would work with the creditors and creditors said they had no contact with allegro. I got more than 2K of the money back when i cancelled and i am glad i did when i did. Allegro screwed 17K people and have gone bankrupt...best way to go to try and pay off your debts is set up minimum payments for what you can and any extra money concentrate on one debt. If anything written off leave it until you have a good amount saved up for it and then try and settle by yourself and pay the creditor. This is the way I have gone and trust me since then I have paid off 2 write offs equal to about 15K for under 8K and now paying off student loans and i will then be debt free for the first time in a very long time. Thanks for nothing Nelm you piece of trash take your allegro and shove it

well, count your blessing and consider yourself the EXCEPTION to this Allegro Law scam.....I was NOT EXPECTING THESE CROOKS TO PAY WITH CENTS ON THE DOLLAR...SAME AS I HAVE SETTLED WITH OTHER TWO COMPANIES....SETTLED FOR ONE THIRD OR ONE FOURTH of what I originally owed the credit card company....nothing else....but these scam dogs did NOTHING....I sent money - monthly for a freaking year and they ate it ALL - none of it did anything, other than take these hogs to a vacation resort.....no special treatment, nothing particular - just start paying my debtors with the moeny they were sucking out of all of us...doing SOMETHING to start negotiating....SOMETHING..... that is all. I do not know what kind of customer one can be, where our monies do not pay for what we have agreed upon...such as with these crooks....and please....please not a word of kindess...none needed - lost the money - ALL OF IT - and this is what is happening to this country of ours...we want to face our responsibilities n good faith and there is an ample supply of crooks, such as these ones, that just grab your faith and your money and go and there is NOTHING we freakng can do...I see the rage has died as none of us can do a thing...other than go back to the asher - gather more money and go and face this crap from square one...pittiful picture, if you ask me... but all in an effort of still, in the midst of such crap, attempting to be a good responsible person.....need I say anything else...I have already settled with my debtor to pay a debt over seven grand for 2K God is good to those that a good people....

It is not the 1930s anymore and that stuff does not happen. Nothing is for free. You ran up debt and you have to pay for it, the same as I do. However, like I said I never had a problem with this company. I will not work with one again because I can afford to make more than the minimum payments on all credit cards now. I wish you all the best of luck. |

My final message ....I SEE THE RAGE HAS DIED...all of us were taken and there is nothing we can do....I have taken the bull by the horns yet once more and am paying directly on my last debt - in an attempt to be a responsible person, where the credit card company did not originally wanted to negotiate with me - am attempting again to clear this sore from my credit....Hope all of you can gather the resources to finalize your financial obligations and start free from the burden of this credit saga and crap.....my best

I started dealing with these crooked lawyers in 2007, sent them nearly nine grand, they never lifted a finger, never sent a single dime to my creditors, so I ended up filing chapter 7. Best thing I ever did!
One thing you have to keep in mind when dealing with ANY debt management company is that any reduction you receive in your debt is taxable. You may want to keep this in mind. If you receive a sizeable reduction, and then can't afford to pay the tax on that amount, what have you accomplished! When filing bankruptcy, the relieved debt is NOT taxable.
After nearly three and a half years of pure hell, I am debt free, thanks to Chapter 7. Needless to say, I will never apply for another credit card, and let those crooks charge me thirty-two percent interest!
Good luck all.

Re.....the wise one.....
Most of us in the real world - when we contract or sign an agreement for "Someone else to act in our behalf" - leave that third party to act in our behalf and dissasociate from dealing direct - that is why we are empowering someone to do the task.....you were sending money to Allegro and still sending money to your debt creditor(s)? wow - you are in the absolute minority....when I decided to take this on, was basically knowing could no longer afford the cc fees, so how can one afford to be sending two payments as I am gathering you did? US regular people were simply complying with one single settlement fee - that is what we agreed could manage to do and in my case, I actually tackled this prior to even being late on payments, but when the credit card people did not want to deal and settle directly - more that I wanted to share, just to enlighen you as to ones situation - for understanding and/or empathy, maybe?

None of us saw this coming - we kept sending money to this scam
None of us saw this coming - we kept sending money to this scam dogs at Allegro and at the end - they took money I sent, monthly, for over a year - mroe thatn twice what you did and now they have filed chapter 11 (bankrupcy), and reported no assets - just got a document on themail stating so - I returned a signed form, as the bakrupcy court requires that all that were on file with this firm were sent that - That Claudia Santana must have been in bed with Allegro - how can anyone give a healthy reference of this herd of dogs that took of us, that in an attempt to clear our debts were relyiong on the professional help to settle our debts....... I think allegrolawbankrupcy - has a web where the latest of ths scap is now being published..... one can only hope any of this will be recovered - but Allebro took it, then the receivership took it - we are now down the stream many hands after the fact - doubt any money has made it to the end of the line... FYI - sorry for all of our lost monies.....

Allegro Law customer service was horrible to try and contact, get any answers or help in what to do except I better appear in court. About a week before my court date, I was informed by Allegro's customer service that they were appointed a trustee. WHAT !!!! I stopped paying them then. I lost only $1402.....I see many of you lost much more. Something SHOULD be done with these scam artists. $1402 is not much, but it is when you can't afford it. OK, it's off my chest! |
More than two years sending payments? OMG
So sorry - have you been under a rock, my friend. Allegro was put under receivership by at least mid 2009....a lot of us discovered it right away and stopped sending payment - at that point in time we knew no payment will rach our debts......there is no way to get a hold of Allegro - they have filed chpater 11 - bankrupcy - do nto exist any longer.....and bankrupcy court is sending out a form to be returend to them - informing us of them filing for bankrupcy and having declared no assets - hence - us lossing all of our monies.....so sorry - try to deal directly with whomever has bought your old debts - taht is what I just did and started from square one again - once you pay off to the one that has bought your old debts - they can clear your credit and/or issue a letter of clearance - but all of those $700 a month you sent - might as well kiss them goodbye....sorry!

It is also a nightmare to try getting a hold of them to try and figure out what's going on. Please be careful and do some research first, i wish i did. There are others out there. Google allegra law, you will see they filed chapter 13 !!!!! |
answer to Elizabeth Sescilla......
[Elizabeth - Allegro was under receivership for almost a year - nothing happened with the guy appointed to look after the monies these crooks from Allegro took from all of us. Allegro has now filed for bankrupcy - I just received a letter and a form to be signed - most of us that had a contract with Allegro should receive this letter. Allegro major crook filed for chapter 11 and declared no assets - so sadly enough I think our monies have gone to thehogs..... so sorry - deal directly to whomever has bought your old debt - that is the only resource you now have - if at all possible - I had junked one of the accounts I had contracted with Allebro and paid if off in five months last year, then most recently contacted the people that bought my second debt and am currently settling with them -t hey did have my file and knew I had been dealing with Allegro and taken by them......WTF? anyway - good luck and read on to see the bankrupcy facts and the receivership - nothing to be done - doubt it!!!
QUOTE=Anonymous;676154]If anyone is working with any group suing Allegro Law or anything similar, please include me. Email me at
I am going to any attorney next week. Have been served with 3 civil summons, and all creditors said they were never contacted by Allegro Law on my behalf, even though I mailed/faxed them MANY letters from creditors, etc. So it's not like they just didn't want to settle...these creditors were NEVER CONTACTED, period!
They have right around $20K between my husband and I in the last 18 months, and they've not settled a single credit card. Now I've got a police officer showing up at my house about once per week serving me with another civil summons.
I can't believe I fell for this. I asked SO many questions when I was talking to Rebecca McFarland (our representative) and she was so reassuring and told us that she's never had anyone whose debts were not settled successfully and that no one she'd ever represented had ever been sued. She claimed to have been working for Allegro Law for many years.
I don't know how the people who work for this company can sleep at night knowing they are lying and creating a ticking timebomb to ruin the lives of those they are claiming to help.
If anyone has had ANY luck with anything, or if anyone knows of any group of people submitting evidence for a suit against Allegro Law, PLEASE email me.
Thanks,
Elizabeth Sescilla

recently received a package from Allegos banckrupcy office - asking to fill out a claim and send proof of all monies given to Allegro - as they are still in the process of checking Allegros bankrupcy filling. Do not know if this will ever get me any money back - but I am not going to stop and loose more than $3,500, and still had to settle both of my debts separately.....has anyone else received anything at all?

The initiative taken for the concern is very serious and need an attention of every one. This is the concern which exists in the society and needs to be eliminated from the society as soon as possible. The above statement is seen to be contradictory. The situation is very critical and need an experience complainer to resolve it.
