I don't think they show as an inquiry, at least I haven't seen it listed. But I have never paid for them, I've always gotten reports based on being rejected for credit or when I've gotten my annual one for free from the govt. So I guess I'm asking if the "paid" ones show as inquiries and therefore bring your score down?

I use credit secure which I have because I am a American Express card holder in good standing and I use true credit as a backup. You can sign up for truecredit at truecredit.com. Cost is around $14.95 per month and allows for daily updates with email alerts.
Not a real one but a fake one you can watch for trend lines.

Only scores from myfico.com can be considered real data as they are the accepted score lenders use. All other scores are fake. True credit's website has trending software built into it that one can use to chart progress.

well that's disappointing! So am I correct in saying that the only real way to know your credit score is to apply for credit through a home mortgage company and ask for a copy of the report?

No anyone can purchase their own Fico from myfico.com.Since this is pricy,I tend not to check them unless I am ready to apply for something. I already have all the credit I need for a long time.

On MyFICO.com, there is a free trial and a 14.95 per month plan, just like with TrueCredit. It doesn't allow you to update it every 24 hours, because it is an accurate FICO score, not a FAKO, but it's not that expensive. I think there might even be an 8.95 plan, but that one may give you FAKO's only. You should check it out anyway, they have lots of plans to choose from. If it's not for you, no big deal. You could try it free for 30 days... but you'd have to remember to cancel it or they'll charge you!
