If I get my "free credit report" annually, AND/OR if I sign up for monthly credit monitoring, do either of those thing negatively affect my credit?

Thank you!

I don't think they show as an inquiry, at least I haven't seen it listed. But I have never paid for them, I've always gotten reports based on being rejected for credit or when I've gotten my annual one for free from the govt. So I guess I'm asking if the "paid" ones show as inquiries and therefore bring your score down?

On MyFICO.com, there is a free trial and a 14.95 per month plan, just like with TrueCredit. It doesn't allow you to update it every 24 hours, because it is an accurate FICO score, not a FAKO, but it's not that expensive. I think there might even be an 8.95 plan, but that one may give you FAKO's only. You should check it out anyway, they have lots of plans to choose from. If it's not for you, no big deal. You could try it free for 30 days... but you'd have to remember to cancel it or they'll charge you!
