saying that the inquiries were initiated by me..
Is there anything I can do about that?

I would recommend that all of us with these ipdls/pdls and this fraud alert on to stop them in their tracks so when they go to pull your chexsystems they won't be able to do it. You can even place the alert on your file by phone. I am going to place one on mine. I wish I would have known about this prior to opening my new checking account.

How would putting a fraud alert stop a pdl from accessing the report? Wouldn't it just show to them that there's a fraud alert on it?
It's my understanding that fraud alerts are there to alert the creditor that there may be ID theft going on, not to stop a creditor from looking at the report. I may be totally off base here, but that was my understanding. I don't see how a fraud alert would stop an inquiry.

What does it mean to have someone on the checksystem report as an inquiry? pdl's has your basic information to request a report on you...
