Happy Friday Everybody...I visit this site from time to time still to remind myself where I was about a year ago, and to remind myself even further how awful PDL's are and how void of conscience those that work for those businesses are. Please believe that these people cannot take your home, they cannot have you arrested, there is no such thing as downloading or uploading you. You can walk away from much of this, without so much as a scrape-close your account, talk to your bank, and move forward. Do not put aside your house payment, car payment, or other actual "real world" obligations to pay these people. This is as much correcting your thought processes as anything. PDL's make you weak, they make you feel second class, and you need to reel back your own power, and your own self worth. I know they are slick, they say things to you and you are terrified and you believe they can actually do the things they say..they can't. Period, point blank, they can't. For the most part, they are operating illegally, they are collecting illegally, and you actually are the one with all the power. Realize that. In reading some of the posts, I just want to drive to your house, give you a hug, and start kicking some butt where these businesses are concerned. Take your power back...pay back if you can, if you can'take care of YOU first. Your home, your family, etc...Take your power back.

What a great post! Just 6 weeks ago I was drowning in PDL debt...until I came across this fantastic website. Now, I am down from 11 to 4. All which have been settled amicably (so far). Happy Friday!

Great advice Wag. This was a much needed pep talk for a lot of people struggling with these PDLs. I remember when I was told to close my checking account that I almost freaked out. I just knew I would go to jail but actually that was the turning point. You finally get some power back.

Amen to that......what's the old saying....power to the people. Even when all my PDLs are paid I'm still going to come back to this site.....I can't believe how much it has helped me.

I agree. . .I came to this site in February of this year, just 3 short months ago. It was the dead of winter, I was down with the flu and worried sick about how to survive the PDL hell I found myself in. I will admit, I wasn't into as bad as some, but still, I didn't know how to get out of it. I found this site by "accident", or was it really? The good people on here were my lifeline as NO ONE else knew anything about this nightmare. With the help and guidance of many fine folks I can now say that I am totally PDL free with no more being spent on them than what was deposited into my bank account. It can be done. It is hard work but getting the PIF's make it all worth it. So. . . when the chips are down, come here, read these encouraging words and know that all will be okay.

That is what's helped me. I found this site by accident too..(or was it?) And I got mad...good and mad. Mad at myself for doing this, and mad at the lenders for how creepy they were, then back to mad at myself for believing (in my 30's mind you) that I could be "uploaded," arrested, or that they had the "in" with my employer. Give me a break. I snapped and went into what my boyfriend calls "terminator" mode, and I just put a stop to everything. I paid those back that worked with me, the others that would not..no, and I really and truly tried to work it out. Some of these lenders are scary with a capital S a nd you can't work with them and they can't be trusted. Believe in yourself, stick close to this site, and grow your own set of Terminator Balls.

Excellent post!!! I to have to give this site a big thumbs up, for I too found all these pdls overwhelming and scared out of my mind. I just now started this process and already I have been making headway. I found this web site and threads a week ago today or was devine intervention?? I have to believe that my guardian angels are looking after me, how else would I have found this site. It has definatly kept me sane.

I love the terminator balls analogy..

I want to add my kudos too!
I came here over a year ago - feeling like I could not go on. This website gave me the strength, encouragement, and resources I needed to be pdl free. I still come back almost daily. This site has been a haven of support for so many - I am continually amazed at the number of people signing in and getting help from these angels. There is a place in my heart for each and every one of you - and the deepest thanks. There is a way out, and it can be done. Don't ever give up. Follow the advise of these folks, and in turn, help others. We are all together in his.

THANK YOU for this post. I'm about to jump head first into defaulting on store front and trying to work out a pay back, since our new rules in OHIO, none of my lenders are allowing anyone to take out loans, which is wonderful, however, I can't pay EPPS on all of them (3) at once and still make my needed expenses like rent and food for my family...So I'm bracing my self for a BIG fight, I'm going to pay them back, and as quickly as possible, but they are not going to like how I have to do it....I am going to print this post and keep it with me at all times...SO I can keep reminding myself that it will be ok, might take a while but I will make it and I will be so much better off in the end. Thanks again, God Bless!

I guess most people have 'breathing problems' when they deal with PDL's. Can't breath, stressing, etc. LOL This site has given me alot of 'leverage'..that's for sure.

"Unclewulf," I LOVE your 4 "no's;" you certainly "no's" what you're talking about!! I'll add various and assorted hosannas and huzzahs to the other posts here; what a great site! Wish we could refer everyone everywhere (esp. the legislators!) here so they could learn, AND get some reasons for putting the PDLs' out of business. I'm (hopefully) down to one last PDL and believe me, I'm not letting them intimidate me. To all of the newcomers here, there IS light at the end of the tunnel - hang tough!
