Medicaid covers transport to things like Dr appts. The county transportation agency I work for does a lot of those. I don't see any reason they wouldn't cover an ambulance ride.

I don't either. And if she states she's too lazy to bill Medicaid, that's her problem. If you had private insurance, would she be too lazy to bill them?

Health care providers are under no duty to make an insurance claim on your behalf. However, you are under a duty to pay for services rendered. Take it upon yourself to make the insurance claims.

If the agency contracts with Medicare/Medicaid, they are suppossed to be filing. Conmtact them yourself again, and if they say the same thing, contact Medicaid and your secondary insurance and let them know what is going on.
I do know that Medicare pays for ambulance rides, mom has had many. I also know that my sis-in-law had private insurance and had her incision open up after she got home from surgery and called the ambulance which transporated her. The ins company later refused to pay because it wasn't an emergency  but my brother had the Doctor re-code it it as an emergency and it was taken care of..Good luck..karen

The responsibility falls under both the patient and the health care provider to insure that billing is handled properly. Even if they sue you you can just tell the judge that it is supposed to be handled by medicare and that you are in the process of handling the issue with medicare to ensure that it is paid. I doubt the judge will render a judgment against you in light of those circumstances.
