So I received a call from a gentleman yesterday stating that US National Bank is putting an OCL on me. OK what is an OCL....He couldnt give me any information except that money was deposited in my checking account on May 23, 2006...Well that would be impossible because I closed that checking account on April 11, 2006...So when I told him that, and I also told him that I can fax him over my papers from the bank stating that the account is closed he got all nervous....He said that I will be charged for 3 accounts of a felony...I consider myself a good person, never been in trouble and never want to be....The number that the guy of US National Bank called from is 480-282-6894...and then he called back with a different number 832-546-128....and that is it....one is from AZ and the other is from TX....what should I do to handle this...he said that i suppose to owe 1947.50...i did in the past have payday loans but they go back from 2005 to 2006.....and they are all paid in full....then i tell this guy why did you wait till 2 years later to contact me....the only information he was giving me was my social number and my old bank number....what should i do...i told the guy from US National Bank to contact me about this wrong date thing...he is suppose to call back on friday.....

welcome to the forum,

US National Bank is an
insult to bottomfeeders everywhere.they can'y
do a thing except call.make a note of the #'s
that show up on your caller id then don't answer.
all they can do is threaten you stupidly.
especialy for a most likely illegal pdl.don't talk
to those jamokes if you can.

I googled the phone number - 480-282-6894. That is a payday lender, Cash2DayLimited.
Don't panic. Payday lenders will try to intimidate and scare you into paying, because that is just about the only recourse they have. US National Bank CANNOT charge you with a felony, or anything like that. There is nothing illegal about not repaying a loan, even though they will claim everything from fraud to bad checks. It is all BS. You cannot go to jail. They cannot send someone to pick you up. The most US National Bank can do is sue you and get a court judgment (which takes a lot of time), and it is doubtful they will even do it as most payday lenders don't operate legally anyway.
Read through these forums and find the payday laws for your state. You will feel much more comfortable knowing the truth.

i wouldn't give
US National Bank anymore without something in writing.never give your bank or any other info over the phone.this is an illegal pdl collector, there is no guarantee that money went toward the supposed debt.

the one sticking point is that he has your account info.i would put a block on your account.you will have to go to the branch and speak to the manager to do this.stop payments won't work,if only temporarily you must do this.he can also debit different amounts, even put through a check.it is unfortunate, but to preserve your bank account this must be done.

if the 300.00 is gone that is too bad,but he can ruin that acct easily.it is best to put a hard block on US national bank a/c.then open a new one,i wouldn't trust this bottomfeeding collection clown.

see i didnt give him my bank information just my bank card information...and i can easily cancel that without changing my bank information...i can go and say that i lost my card, they will deactivate it and reissue me a new card...so if he puts the number through that it will no longer be in good use...

so guess what since i only used my bank card for this one transaction, i called my bank to see if i had to close my account because of this...she said no that all that has to be done is to deactivate the card and if anyone uses it that it will not work...so since i didnt give any bank information to US national Bank that i have no worries except that im out of 300 bucks....i guess a lesson learned....so should i call this guy and tell him that one i never had a loan with cash2daylimited, two that us national bank doesnt exist, and that what he did was illegal....

I would do this:

1. IMMEDIATELY dispute the $300 charge if it has been processed. Tell the bank you did not authorize it. THEN CLOSE THE CARD AND HAVE THE BANK ISSUE YOU A NEW ONE. That should get you the $300 back. If the $300 hasn't been processed, CANCEL the card NOW!
2. Send the company a DV letter. Make them prove that you owe the money. In your OP you said that all your PDL's were PIF, and you closed your old ckg account on April 11, 2006 - but, he said $ was deposited on May 23, 2006. Hmmm...makes me wonder...(scam here)? Maybe he had the date wrong, maybe he meant 2005? If so, and you said your PDL's were PIF then there should be nothing to collect...
3. Chances are they are an illegal PDL. I would file a complaint with the AG, BBB and FTC. The fact that they first misrepresented who they were and threatened you with a felony, THEY are the ones breaking the law.

BTW: If you send the DV letter and they don't validate, then they cannot collect. If they continue to try, you could sue them for illegal collection activity.

Also, spend some time on this website and see how others have handled similar issues.

Hope this helps!

This is so sad....I just feel that people get so scared into paying monies they don't owe...I am guessing here; but feel that is how these illegal pdl's are working now...just finding old ss#'s and bank #'s and just start making calls to collect whatever they can since they know that a lot of people are unto them and only getting back what is lent out...so basically losing fees. just bad bad...they need to go away.

don't just throw that monies away. Dispute with your bank. Say that it was stolen and you need another...really, get your money back.

A DV letter is a debt validation letter that you need to send to them. just do a search for one in the upper right hand corner and there are plenty out there. This will make them validate the debt they are requiring about. But now that they have their money or some monies from you; you may never hear back. So please dispute it...You will be glad you did.

well guess what i found...if this is cash2day lmt, i had a loan with them a few years ago...i found the letter that they sent me that it was paid in full....im am such a fool...i already cancelled my card like right after you told me to....then i called the bank back and i have to go up there and try to dispute it....but the card is already useless.....now i can stand my grounds.....so now should i call this goober back and tell him that i found a letter that states that this account is paid in full....but i still wonder if this isnt a scam because of the date thing...thats what bothers me...and that i had to deactivate my card which i hope will be here intime for my vacation in two weeks....

Okay, since this was your bank-issued debit card, you should be able to go down to the bank and dispute the charge. It doesn't matter if it was already taken out - the bank will reverse it and you will get your money back. You will have to sign a form stating that you did not authorize it, or that it was for a loan that was already paid off. They will reverse the charge and put the money back into your account. Take the PIF letter with you, to show that it was paid off already. I've had to do this once before and the money was back in my account in less than 24 hours.

You said you had a loan with Cash2DayLimited a few years ago, and you had a PIF letter with them. The phone number you listed as calling with this debt, in your first post, comes up as a number for Cash2DayLimited.

I'd be down at my bank asap reversing that charge. Don't call the jerk back. If he calls you, tell him you will be glad to fax him a copy of the PIF letter, and inform him that you are reversing the charge, as the loan is already paid off.

Don't call them back, it is a scam....keep your letter handy for just in case. email and/or another call. Send them a copy of the letter and a cease and desist letter to not contact you again. File complaints and DEFINITELY dispute the transaction....It's your monies, not theirs.

hi alwaysthinking,

Did you get a name of the collection company or the name of the orginal creditor? Because they are calling my previous employer, harassing them. I tried to call but they are not giving me an address, company name, nothing.

US National Bank just withdrew several hundreds of dollars from my account this past Friday illegally. I never heard of them and they did it without my knowing about it. I got my funds back in my account today and closed that account. Be very careful of this company because if you applied on line for a PDL but never got it which is probably what happened to me, funds will be taken from your account without you not knowing about it. So beware of putting your banking information out there for these scum bags to get because you will never get the loan but get charged for it.

the bank wouldnt refund the money back because on my statement the withdrawl says its from paymybills(dot)com......the guy was suppose to call me back two fridays ago with the correct information but never did...but i bet he will call on the 27th for more money and guess what he isnt going to get any....i didnt give him my bank information just used my bank card which i cancelled the next day after finding out that it was a scam...since he cant validate the debt than im not obligated to pay anything..he already got 300 bucks from me and when he does or if does call back im telling him whatever that debt is consider it paid in full...
