I have a Sears card, which was sold to Citi but with a wrong address, so this account became overdue and then charged off. I disputed it as "not my account" with EP and TU in 2004 by the address. This entry was removed from both CRs.

Later, Citi sold this account to LVNV, and somehow they obtained my correct address, and LVNV entered my CR.

I want to continue to dispute, but since they have my current address, if I continue to dispute as "not my account", the verification may come back as "accurate", then I am screwed.

Can I say "the citi account was deleted due to the wrong address it used, so the associated collection entry should be deleted as well"?

Will this work? Or is there a better way?

You can try, but your account was charged off. Therefore, the entry is accurate, and you have no actual basis to force the removal. Dispute for any reason you want, and force the collector to prove that the entry is legitimate.

You can also try a PFD.

Sounds like DV LVNV will only force them to provide the receipt that they purchase the debt from Citi, nothing else.

Plus it will give them a verification of my current address, nothing good.

I heard a strategy as: DV CA first with CMRRR; when I obtain the receipt, dispute with CR immediately; if CA can not verify in time, it will be deleted. Is this way good?
