United Cash Loans Issue--what?!?
Date: Mon, 07/07/2008 - 09:41
I refuse to use Moneygram to pay this. I sent them an e-mail asking if they are refusing my payment through money order. I can't believe they would do that, since that's as good as cash.
What are my options now? I'm so frustrated with them right now I'm thinking about not even bothering with it anymore. My BBB complaint was closed due to the agreement we made for $300 in a money order. I wonder if I should open up another complaint, or just wait? Does anyone know if UnitedCashLoans is MTE Financial? I'm having trouble with them too.
Hello Saxy, I hope you kept the receipt of the money order. Y
Hello Saxy,
I hope you kept the receipt of the money order. You should trace it and see if it was cashed. also did you keep a hard copy of that BBB complaint including the settlement?

The trace showed that it had not been cashed, so I think I'm going to cancel it today. And yes, I have a copy of the BBB complaint with my acceptance of their $300 settlement by money order. I just received an e-mail from them--I advised them that I am not going to use Moneygram, and asked if they were going to refuse payment by money order. Here is their response: (I think I made the person mad, because it's all CAPS) ;-)
WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A PAYMENT, SO WE CAN NOT REFUSE, THE DEAL WAS IT HAD TO BE HERE BY 06/30/08, YOU DID NOT LIVE UP TO YOUR PART. IF YOU WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS RECEIVED, AND IN TIME FOR THE 06/30 DEADLINE, THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE SENT IT PRIORITY OR EXPRESS MAIL WITH A TRACKING #. OBVIOUSLY IF YOU HAD ACTUALLY SENT THE PAYMENT, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO DO THAT, SO THIS ISSUE WOULD NOT EVEN COME UP.
WE CAN NOT WASTE ANYMORE TIME ON THIS ACCOUNT. YOUR CHOICE. WE WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY FURTHER DEMANDS.
IF YOU ACTUALLY SENT A MONEY ORDER, YOU BETTER GET YOUR MONEY BACK, BECAUSE WE NEVER GOT IT!
Jeez, maybe I should have sent it certified but I figured since it was traceable I wouldn't have to bother. I'm going to get my money back, but now what should I do to deal with UCL?
Hi Saxy, I t has been awhile.... Yes, UCL is MTE!! Suprise!
Hi Saxy, I t has been awhile.... Yes, UCL is MTE!! Suprise! not! Anyway...I agree with Anya, trace the money order and see where it is..and as for the BBB complaint...hang on to it too. If they stated as a resolution in your BBB complaint they would take the $300 money order and now they have changed their tune to suing, I would most certainly file another complaint and what about your state regulating agency or your AG. Then I would just wait them out...let them try to sue you. They are illegal, you have documentation where they agreed to a money order, you followed through, they reneged and now are threatening you...it would be even more damning if they would write back and say yes, they are refusing to take a money order. I seriously doubt they would ever sue, but if they do, they are the ones who will end up looking like idiots.
Well that was RUDE of them  Besides that, if you can
Well that was RUDE of them
Besides that, if you can cancel the money order and get the money back I would do it. It might be lost somewhere, or the bonheads got the money order and did not process it yet. They are offering to let you pay by moneygram now, which will cost you about a few bucks to send payment. It is up to really. They are ILLEGAL and I would do as Rxy stated and file another complaint including that bogus email
Thanks Roxy! :) I must be too sensitive a person because I'm act
Thanks Roxy! :) I must be too sensitive a person because I'm actually offended by their response. I'm hanging onto everything from them, and will file another complaint--gee, I should just tell them that I'm not going to send them a dime until their other company (500fastcash.com) responds to my letters!!
hi anya--I'll get my money back from the bank, and I'm not going
hi anya--I'll get my money back from the bank, and I'm not going to do moneygram. I just can't figure out why they are making this tough, when I was trying to give them their money! How frustrating.

Saxy, you should be offended...That was rude. I think I was typing as you were responding so we crossed each other. They are making htis tough becuase they can. And I again, agree with Anya, they probably have the stupid money order and the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Put it back on them. So far they have received everything you have sent, the BBB has sent, etc....and now all of a sudden they do not have the money orders, when you have been using the same address. How convenient for them. Bottom line is this....they are unlicensed and illegal, you are doing the honorable thing by trying to work this out with them and they are being difficult.....you could just say screw it and what can they do about it? Why in the world would you buy a money order to not send it...most of us do not have $300.00 to do that with...and you can PROVE you did get the money orders. Your receipts will show that, and when they were purchased. You can not just make those up. UGH!!!!!
I really, really want to respond to their rude e-mail, but I'm j
I really, really want to respond to their rude e-mail, but I'm just going to mull it over for a while--as for the money order--too bad, I'm going to get my money back and pay some of my LEGIT bills! I'm not going to monkey around with them--sure, they will send me to collections for the entire $390, but still...they're going to have to accept a money order. :)

the pdl doesnt have to validate if they are the original creditor. Saxy is trying to pay the principalamount...which is the right thing to do but the PDL is playing games. There is nothing to validate.

never heard from them??
Hi all I also had united cash loans on my list and sent them the same info as everyone else. It has been 3 weeks since I closed my account and I still havn't heard from them. I am in MD and pdls are illegal and I did tell them I was going to notify their ach processor but so what? The same with PRL direct and I borrowed 800.00 from them! I am only asking for an address to send payments but when I go on the web site it says I am not allowed to use it! I don't know what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks as always.

Did you actually call Intercept regarding Unitedcashloans? I was blocked from PayDayMax and MyCashNow once I started making phone calls. It could be positive sign.

Hi, I never actually called because I never have heard from these guys. I figured I would have a big fight on my hands and now I'm not sure what is happening with this. I did hear from web payday dispuiting my loan being illegal and from Little loan shoppe with the same thing. How come all these guys are licened in UTAH?? What is up with that state anyway and what the heck should I tell them? They have taken so much money from me in past loans before I found this site and I don't owe any more in principle to THESE GUYS but I do to the others but can't get any responce from them?? What to do?? Thanks as always again.

Are they still debiting your account? If so, and you have sent a C and D letter, call Intercept and let them know that they are being asked to debit on a revoked account. Ask for Cindy when you call. Then let UCL know that you have spoken with Intercept.

Hi I should have said who I was. You all have been helping me all along. I am Closed account HELP and yes they did try to debit my acct 1 time after I had closed it but at that time they where shot down. I have sent the c&d letters and these guys I have not heard back from. I'm not real sure if I should try to contact them or just wait. Thanks as always.

I found it amusing, that the IPDLs block you access from your account online when you question or challenge them. If you ask me that is a RED FLAG for guilty. My advice is get every peice of information out of them before you light the fire
Update
Update on United Cash Loans--I received an e-mail today stating that since no payment was ever received my account is now at their "recovery department" for full amount owed and that I will need to make payment arrangements with them when they call.
I got my money back from the money order I sent them because they apparently never did get it(it wasn't cashed at least). So now they sent me to collections? Can I even ask for a debt validation from them? If they're an illegal company, what collection agency would they go through? They didn't even give me information to contact their "recovery department".
reply
refile your AG,BBB and FTC cpmlaints.if you haven't filed complaints then do so.all MNE d/b/a's follow the same playbook.
they will use an in house collector,or just harrass the bejeezus
out of you.as you see with there emails they are very arrogant
and will fight you.do not give in,you only owe the principle nothing more.

I have already revoked their right to contact me at home or work via telephone, as well as contacting my references. If they do that anyways, is there anything I can do to stop that? I have sent an e-mail to them, requesting contact information for their collections department as well as their collections department manager's name.

I agree with paul. Their "recovery" department is more than likely the guy sitting at the desk next to the guy who sent you the email saying you were in recovery! I don't think there are an "higher ups". . . . .just someone who wants you to think they are! Were you trying to send them the full amount of what you borrowed? They are notorious for saying that they didn't get the "memo" so they can debit your account again and again, before they finally accept your payment. Are they asking for more than what you have already paid on the account?
They settled for the principal amount of $300, and that is what
They settled for the principal amount of $300, and that is what I sent to them. They never cashed it, and now they are wanting the full amount of $390. I already received a response from my e-mail a few minutes ago, accusing me of playing games. How can I be playing games by trying to PAY them?? Grr.....if I really wanted to be an A$$ I would refuse to pay them anything at all! This is frustrating, and I again asked for a contact number for their Collections department and stated that if they refuse, then THEY are the ones playing games.
I'm so frustrated. All I want to do is pay them, and they are making it extremely hard to do so. Is the extra $90 really worth their trouble?

So you sent the $300, it was never cashed and you got a return for the money order? Does that mean that the original money order is now flagged as being "no good"? Did the email come from compliance or customer service?

I got my money back because it had been 2 weeks and UCL advised they never received it at all; so the money order is no good now, wherever it ended up.
I've been communicating with the compliance department since their settlement offer for principal. With their last reply to me they say they will no longer respond to my e-mail "demands".....I don't think I'm demanding anything--just requesting confirmation that will indeed accept the next money order I send to them. I really do want to pay, but they think I'm playing games!

I don't think I've received any calls from them at work yet--I don't answer any numbers that aren't familiar to me, and no messages are left if it is in fact UCL.
I've worked with my states AG office, which had it turned over to the DFI--they have not helped me resolve any of my complaints as of yet. I think my next step will be calling United Cash Loans myself since they will no longer respond to my e-mails, giving me a collections department phone number. I will send them another money order, but this time it will only be a partial payment. If they cash that, then they will get the full amount.

But if you just send a partial payment, they will probably continue to add on fees as it is not for the total amount borrowed. Also, I would send another complaint to the BBB, stating that you had made that payment in good faith, it was never cashed, and now you have resent that payment as a paiyment in full. Also, do you have anything in writing as to their acceptance of the $300 as a PIF? If so, I would attach that as well and any other receipts you may have from the original $300 money order, AND bring it up to their attention Like I said, saying that haven't received something, or not cashing it, is their way of adding on more fees. Don't let them get away with it. Give them their $300, walk away, and don't look back.

bmblbe, the e-mail address I have is "compliancedepartment@unitedcashloans.com".
llw, I haven't sent a second $300 payment yet--I used the money to take care of others, so any payment I resend them will need to be a partial--maybe I should just wait until I have the full amount, but I'm afraid that they will just keep tacking on fee after fee. I do have their settlement offer of $300, but it had an expiration date on it.
Perhaps when I call them this afternoon, their "collections department" will agree to accept my partial payment. I just want this over and done with; I just don't have the money to pay in full right now.

I understand completely. Since I got involved with all this nonsense, I have become quite good at robbing Peter to pay Paul. If you do wait, they will definitely keep adding on fees and they will probably tell you they will need to do that no matter how much you send them. As for their expiration dates, that's a bunch of bunk as well. It just proves how illegal, immoral and uncaring they are. I, myself, would call them and see what you can arrange. The bottom line is, they are illegal and all you owe is what they deposited into your account. Drive that fact home. Keep us posted.

Thanks Saxy. I was lucky with them because I sent them one letter and they returned with a PIF. But since I overpaid them by over $600 I want my money refunded. So far I have been able to get all my over paid fees refunded from other companies except them. I will try that email and see if I have any better luck. Thanks again.

Well, I ended up on the phone for 25 minutes yesterday with UCL--I called three different phone numbers, and each person could not locate me in the system. I even spoke to someone in their "final collections" department and he advised that I was not in their system as a default account. After hanging up, I realized that I'm still back at square one, with no answers on how I can get this paid off. I'm so frustrated with them right now, and I sent off another e-mail to the compliance department with what happened yesterday. They think *I* am playing games?!? Who's playing games now?? Sheesh. I'm starting to think that doing the right thing is much more trouble than it should be.

Have you checked your account on their website? Many on the board have gone to a particular PDL website, logged into their account, only to find that it has been closed. Not saying this is the case, but it's worth a try.

I can still log in, and see that my balance due is $390. And yes, I sure am getting tired of getting the run-around, and am trying to just get it done and over; however, they're making it hard, and I'm just wondering if they're just doing this to try to tack more fees on--can they do that?
Probably. Do you have access to a fax? Do you have this number
Probably. Do you have access to a fax? Do you have this number, (480) 624-2599 as a fax contact for them? Or is this something different? If it is, I would try faxing your concerns over to that number. Keep us posted.
I think what I'm going to do, since I haven't paid any principal
I think what I'm going to do, since I haven't paid any principal on this loan as of yet is send another money order. I'm only going to send $50 though, because that's all I can afford right now...I'm saving my receipts just so they know I'm making a good faith effort to pay this back. You can bet that I'm only going to give them $300 though, NOT the illegal interest! With all the letters and my complaints through the BBB, I would expect to get a PIF once they cash my money orders.
Has anyone ever used a prepaid card to pay these companies? The person in Final Collections stated that I could use a prepaid card--that might be a better option so I can be sure they take the money.
Yes, I am sure they have. I think I remeber someone just sendin
Yes, I am sure they have. I think I remeber someone just sending them the card for the exact amount of the loan and that was that. It is a good idea. I would still fax over my communications if you get a chance. It might just get you an understanding from them. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks llw....I'll fax them today. I haven't received a response from the Compliance department yet. Maybe they're a little frustrated too. ;-)
Don't pay them a thing.
They can do nothing to you but call. Write a C&D, file a BBB Complaint on the Tulsa, OK BBB site, and refuse to pay.
I did that, they wrote off $435 they said I owed them because I didn't back down. You giving in to their hassle is how they stay in business. Don't. Back. Down.
United Cash
So I'm regretting this pdl already. I just received the $300 today but i have a unique situation. I had given information to lowpaycard.com but never agreed to anything and they began to withdraw from my account on numerous occasions. I had been receiving direct deposit from my job to that account so when I put a hold on it, the bank opened me a new account and just has my deposit forwarded to the new account. So I signed up for the pdl with the old account and it was forwarded to the new, but I'm sure they'll try to dip into the old, but they don't have the account number for the new. Would it be wise to close my old account NOW???
