I've got several pdl's and I really need help, I feel like I'm suffocating! I've got 5 storefront loans out and 3 online. I'm so embarrassed, I haven't told anyone how bad this situation actually is, and I'm getting to the point that I honestly do not know what I'm going to do. I live in AR, so anyone who has been through this here and survived would be extremely helpful!!!
I have checked into filing for bankruptcy, which seems like the best option since I also have other types of debt. The only thing is, I've got to pay at least $800 down to an attorney and all of my money is going to these pdl fees! I can barely afford gas to get to work!
The attorney I talked to advised me to close my checking account and stop paying on these things, but I'm terrified that I'll end up in jail for hot checks once these companies send in the checks!
I've talked to three different attorneys and none of them can tell me for sure if I would be prosecuted for hot checks. They've all just said they don't think they'd prosecute since these are loans defaulting.
I don't know what to do! The only way to pay for the bankruptcy is to stop all the fees by closing my account! Help!

I live in Arkansas too and I had a lot of PDL's both storefront and internet. I can say that I closed my account and did not get prosecuted for bad checks. They called and tried to make payment arrangements with me. So I think as long as you make some type of arrangements you have nothing to worry about.

Good Luck! I've been where you are so I know exactly how you feel. You'll feel so much better once you close your account and can actually have control of your pay check. I use to spend a lot of Friday's going to different pay day loan companies just to pay the interest and digging myself deeper and deeper in debt. It wasn't worth it. I was paying pay day loans before I was paying my mortgage. I had to finally say enough is enough.
