I received a court summons today in regards to a Capital One credit card from last year. I have had alot of financial problems and cannot pay on my credit cards. I had to put rent, groceries and utilities first. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with them before and if this is really someone who bought this debt from them and now hired a debt attorney to collect from me. I live in Kentucky and cannot find anyone that can help me in the mess I am in. I asked them to validate the date weeks ago and the attorney office sent me a copy of Capital One rules and regulations and then wrote on the letter that I got the card on so and so date with the 4 last numbers of my social. They did not send a copy of the original application or anything. The amount originally started out as $500.00 and now they want almost $1000.00!!!!!!!

Hello,
I also received a summons to appear in court because I fell behind in my payments to Capital One. I lost my job and could not make payments. When I told Capital One the reason I couldn't pay (no job), their response was to tack on more charges. Originally, I owed around 900.00 dollars. It is now 2400.00 due to all the charges they have assessed. Is their anyone out there willing to represent us defendants in court against these credit card companies? I barely make ends meet now. How can Capital One get away with this?
