When I received calls from them I asked them to send me verification of the debt and all loans and payments I had with MCN. I was told that they had nothing to do with them. They bought the debt from them-didn't they?
They then went from real person calls to automated calls coming late in the evening. I then received a call at 9:05pm from a woman who immediately started with the fact that she was going to report me to the credit bureau if I didn't pay and then told the ethics people that I was the rude one and hung up on her. What did she expect?
I filed a complaint against them with the ACA ethics board. Well, you should see the letter I got today. It was full of lies. They claim that their 9:05pm call was made at 7:57pm. I can tell time!
As of today, I never received a validation of the debt or the account history from MCN.
I have responded to the ACA and told them that there were a lot of lies from NCA and no mention of just how many automated calls they made to my home.
I guess I'll wait and see what kind of a response I get.

The best way to tackle a debt collector is to ask for a debt verification. The CA is bound to validate the debt and send all related information about it to you. When they are not responding to your DV, then it is obvious that they're a scum.

When I filed a complaint with the ACA against Nat'l Credit Adjusters, they just lied.
I just replied back to the ACA and told them that most of the response from NCA was lies. I also told them where I found several court cases brought against them for ethics violations-one as recently as early this month. I wonder if they realize that their so called upstanding member is nothing but lowlife.
I also just filed a complaint with the FTC against NCA and MCN. Let them check and see just how above board these 2 are. MCN lists no address on their website and operates outside of the US with no license in the US to be found and from what I have found on the internet, NCA is a bunch of lowlife debt buyers.

Don't ASK for a debt validation...put it in WRITING and send it certified mail return receipt requested. Unless they validate, they can't collect. NCA is trying to collect on an illegal debt. Protect yourself and put everything in writing. They will go away.
