I have tried to call her on the phone and so have some of her friends and she won't answer the phone so I have just printed off these emails and sent them to her through the mail. Can they do anything to me, (meaning the pdl places since they have my email address)?

if that is all they have on you.no,but i would be curious as to how much of your info these pdl's do have.i would do as some others advised and reply to the emails.giving the actual address and phone# of the borrower.sorry this had to happen to you ladybug.hope we helped.

Even though you had said the emails are coming to your email address, are they specifically addressed to you, or your "so-called" friend? What she did is just flat out wrong, and fraud, identity theft if she used your name. If she didn't use your name, then I would do as the previous posts had said; give the pdls her telephone# and address.
Not to mention, I would also be done with her once the matter gets straightened out.

I would send them (the payday lenders) an e-mail your friend's name and address, so they can contact her. Also report them to your internet provider.

I don't think YOU would be in trouble if you voluntarily give them the information they need in order to collect their money. It's a case of using your identity to obtain a loan. Just curious, do the emails come addressed under your name, or her name?
Then I would definitely give them her correct email address.

I agree with other posters - give the PDL's her contact information and for goodness sakes, in the future, be more careful with your computer. We don't like to think our friends would do something like this, but she doesn't sound like much of a friend!! Hopefully she didn't have any access to any of your personal info (such as bank accounts, Social Security #, etc); but just to be on the safe side, at least for a while, keep a close watch on your bank account to make sure there's no unauthorized withdrawals or other activity.

Using your email would be the same as if she put down that she lived at your address. That doesn't make you any bit responsible for anything. And you have no obligation to make sure she gets the mail, either.
You could not get in trouble for giving them her contact info, either, because you are not bound by any collection/privacy laws.

Well thank god. I am not calling them I will try to send them emails though if they can receive them, you know alot of them won't. I know that Thinkcash, which is not a pdl has an address in texas but I know they are back by the first bank of delaware...the other one that I know of is mycashnow which is located in vancouver, bc.
She needs to pay back the principal on what she borrowed as far as I am concerned, otherwise I look at it as fraud on her part.

I had my share of the payday loan mess in the past (that's how I found all you fabulous people ;))...I hated dealing with it when it was my own mess...but I would have it much worse if I had to deal with it because of someone else!
At least it appears they only have your email address!!
