Can someone please explain the difference between the two? My payroll department says that there is no differenct that they are both garnishments and will be taking out of pay check. I told them that the assignment is voluntary and I can revoke it. They told me no!

The PLS Loan Store in IL is threating to send the wage assignment to my employer to garnish my wages even though I called to negoitiate a payment plan. They told me that it ain't no guarantee that they will not send it before I get a chance to come in to make arrangements. Please note that I'm not trying to get out of paying them this is a debt that I owe, but I need more time and more payment options flexibility and they won't give. Please Help me someone!

if your HR person is going to allow a WAGE ASSIGNMENT.talk to your boss.if that fails talk to his boss.unless it is court ordered,a wage assignment is revocable.your HR person should know better.

Wage Garnishment= Court ordered, employer must comply in garnishment states.

Wage Assignment=Voluntary, not court ordered and can be revoked at any time. Certain stipulations must be met in order for a wage assignment to even be "legal". Example, in most states, if you are married, your spouse must also sign the wage assignment when it is originally executed.

Call your state dept of labor and get more info in writing for your payroll dept. Also, show your payroll dept that you revoked it with the pay day lender!!
