Hey guys, got a call from a guy at this company today. Explains to me that they guarantee in writing to get you 60% reduction of your debts. The money goes into a "special purpose account" in Rocky Mountain Bank and Trust in Colorado. He told me their fee was 15% of the settled for amount. I understand guys that we should be able to settle for ourselves but settling by ourselves we can't make low monthly payments, at least that's the way it seems to me. He says that Advanta has settled with them and he says they have customers in Georgia. PLEASE anyone heard of them at all?

Complete Scam Artists...We checked them out on BBB B4 dealing with them, looked ok. Now, not ok. They took around $2,300.00 in fees from us in the first 4 months, contacted not one single creditor. We did exactly what they asked, not anwering a call. We had very good Credit before dealing with Liberty but developed excessive debt due to an uninsured moterist almost killing my wife and two children and our insurence only covering a limited amount because the driver was a juvinile. Liberty then, after contacting them repeatedly about a chargeoff notice that they would not reply to me about finally tells me that our account with them is closed because "we" supposedly closed it. After several weeks of explaining that "we" never closed the account and their "very" young and inexperienced CS agent "Andrew" changing his story from "closed" to "temperarily suspended" to "not ever closed at all" we finally got the story from another agent that either another clients request to close was placed in our file "or" a request to w/d one of our credit cards from the account was misunderstood as closing the account. At any rate, clearly understanding from Liberty our account was closed, filled with panic and concern and not wanting our cc to charge off I called the one creditor and discovered they were willing to settle for 40% and at a lower interest rate and had been willing to settle after 90 days and waiting on Liberty to call since their initial letter that they were handling debt settlements. I then called my five other creditors and settled with "all" of them easily. It was remarkable. And "all" of them said they had heard from Liberty not "once" since their initial letter letting them know they were a debt settlement company handleing the account. They had all been willing to settle for one to several months and were preparing to show "chargeoff status" on my credit. I had spacifically told Liberty I "did not want any charge offs on my credit history". They breached our contract by closing it without our authorization sending us into a panic and causing me to do all of their work, which I, remarkably, was able to do in about eight hours time. One work day! And they already have $2300.00 of mine and were planning on taking about $3000.00 more. They would have gotten away with it if low I.Q. Andrew at the service cubicle had been something close to polished or professional or a better liar. Now my wife and I, after the trauma and drama of a terrible auto accident have to file with the BBB and Attorney General's office and see if Justice will prevail. By the way, they never answer email or return calls. They will not leave a paper trail and your call are apparently recorded, say they. If your having financial troubles use a good attorney or a good church financial councelor for free.

They got me #, how, I don't know. Told me to open account ,and would charge me 15% of my balance. With no guarantee of anything except not to pay my bills. The sales
people seem very untrained in what's truly going on there. Beware!

I know from experience, that Advanta does not work with settlement companies. They will offer settlements, but it will be directly with you and not through a third party. So anyone promising that is untrustworthy, in my opinion. Although 15% does seem to be the standard fee for settlement programs.

If your credit is already damaged and you don't forsee any increase in your income, and currently making only the minimum payments then settlement is right for you. There are scammers out there, but they never stay in business long. Liberty Settlements has never gone out of business or changed names. They have been in business for over 4 years. Bottom line, ask any and all questions what they can do and what they cannot do. Any company or agent who tries to rush you is likely unethical. I know the industry well and Liberty Settlements is among the best out there, Settlement is NOT for all people who have debt. If it works for you it beats bankruptsy and lets you get on with your life .

we have a horror story I am afriad. We have paid them nearly $3,000. One of our creditors sued us..we sent the paperwork in and they said they would take care of it and not to worry. Three months later I have a lien on my house, HUGE garnishment and they didn't do a thing!! The creditor said they never contact them! we are contemplating legal action against them...this is a mess and I regret every letting them "help" us...we should have gone with consumer credit counseling like we were going to!!!

We are behind on two with a balance of almost $11,000.00
Our income is in half and we need help............please

I used Liberty Settlement to settle over $60K in debt - they did charge for it, but the relief with phone calls was great! They settled two of my accounts for 16%, another for %20, and another for %30. Advanta did not want to work with them - I settled that on my own for 33%. The only bank that didn't work with them was Wells Fargo, so far. Really, for me it wasn't about credit rating, it was about getting this guys to go away and using Liberty to do it. The first three months they took their fees as well, but it wasn't like they didn't a good job in the long run. Don't think it's a scam.

These people completely ruined my credit and now I'm suffering because of them. They said they were negociating my debts with the companies, and then to my surprised I was sued by Capital One. When I called them to inform them, they said to try to work it out with them. At that point I told them they told me they would help me if this happened, and the rep just answered that they didn't offer legal services. Needless to say I got sued, and my credit ruined. Believe me work it out with the CC companies. Don't use these people.

I'm highly suspect of anyone who says that Liberty Settlement helped them. I did read a post here that said that they were considering suing the company. I'd be interested in finding out more about that. I was sued, my credit is ruined, and they kept a % of the money I had sent in for the credit card payments before they refunded my balance to me.
