nope they can't.that is a classic bottomfeeder CA collecting for a bottomfeeder PDL.when they call again and they will call again.demand an address to send a DV and C&D letters.if they refuse then try not to talk to them.sounds like you don't remember having this particular pdl.do not let them bully you.do not agree to anything.payments or anything else without something in writing from these people.

Thank you. Phew he kept saying go borrow the money then like I can just magically make it appear. Then he said I woudl have to pay triple the amount in which was owed because of court costs and attorney fee's. Thank you you made me feel alittle better though. Where is the DV letter? I have the C&D letter.

DV would be debt validation.what your requesting is there right to collect this debt.being as not only are they most likely not licensed,but neither is the pdl.they must be able to validate or cease further collection activity.

Would you happen to know the laws in Mass? Are they illegal in this state. If they call back and say they are going to take me to court what would you suggest that I do?

i can't do an attachment of the laws from the computer i'm on right now.but pdl's are prohibited in MA.that means no pdl's will be legal.therefore if these mopes call and say they will take you to court.respond with come and get me.what they are implying is they will have you arrested and taken to court.which can't happen for legal debt.yours is not legal.therefore they really can't do anything but threaten.get those letters out asap.
